Love it...but do you really need it?

By

from NH

I love this system. It is the best wireless system I have ever tried, and really felt like a professional when using it. Instructions are a little ambiguous, but as a software programmer, I know how to read flow charts. Before a big gig though, it mysteriously stopped working. This is not a common error, and I should assume if I didn't own it, the problem wouldn't have happened. Anyways, I am in the process of returning it, but I am not sure if I will get a replacement or not. Don't get me wrong, it's an excellent system, but do I really need to be wireless? In the college gig scene I don't expect to fill many stadiums, and therefore don't know if I still need to be wireless. If you MUST be wireless though, this is the best system for the money...actually, this is just one of the best systems. Oh, and don't get the single channel WMS40/guitar bug. It is a waste of money. Get this multichannel system - it'll work anywhere.

Love it

By

I have used AKG wireless for many years on my guitar, because the AKG stuff doesn't mess with my tone the way some (most!) other systems do. I tried out a lot of other wireless before I settled on this new AKG unit, and I was not disappointed. This thing is amazing for the money, as it has features that I have only seen on wireless systems that are 3 to 4 times as expensive. It has a couple of things, front panel indicator changing from green to red for low battery or other problems, and external chargers, that NO ONE else has at any price as far as I know. I am trying to think of one negative comment that I have about this unit, but I can't really think of one! I guess the only suggestion that I would have is that if AKG could make this unit utilizing their "bug" transmitter instead of a pack, that would be REALLY cool. No biggie though, as the pack is really small and light, and it only uses ONE battery.

Great unit!

This is an amazing unit for the money! It has so many cool features that the other wireless systems don't have (like showing the battery life in HOURS instead of one of those "fuel gauges", and having the front panel turn red when you are getting low on battery life, not to mention a bunch of other cool things. The unit sets up in about 10 seconds, and I have had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with drop outs or interference. The pack is very small and light, and runs on ONE AA battery which cuts down on operating costs. I did a LOT of research before buying this thing, and I was not disappointed!
