Good pedal, but not for me.
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
I bought this because several people I know had it, and it seemed to work okay for them. Not a bad pedal -- good construct, as you would expect from Boss, gave a good sound. But it did practically the same thing as my OD channel on my amp. And in order to get a little more sound, I had to increase the level which made some noise that even my suppressor couldn't stop. So I sold it. I don't think it was a bad pedal at all, but just didn't work for my setup. So, the moral of the story -- try it, but consider what you are playing through first.

Blues Driver is just right
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
i puchesed a BD-2 several weeks ago, to my suprise it was just what i was looking for in a light distortion pedal. Turning the gain up will give you a distortion.Turning it down gives just the right Blues Tone. After playing in churches and places you just can't take a metal distortion pedal; this pedal is just right,

My dirty little secret
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
I discovered the Blues Driver by accident. I saw a Boss recommendation to use one when trying to get Angus Young "Highway to Hell" tone, which it can do with a little help from my Marshall DSL and greenback cab. It had other moments, but I wasn't crazy about the pedal in most other applications until I read the manual a little closer and tried the "booster" setting - level way up, gain way down. This pedal is well worth the money on the boost setting alone. My amp came alive like it was shot up with adrenaline, and it was already good. If you want Billy Gibbons or Thin Lizzy, it's in there. How about Joe Perry at his raunchiest? Gritty yet smooth, filthy, greasy, and sweet. If you're looking for a good overdrive/boost that'll give you warm, sizzly tone with a touch of southern fried, this is the one. I thought about getting one of those green pedals, but I think I've found my tone, at least for a long while. If you're into getting pedals modded, the Keeley Phat Mod for the BD-2 is one of their more popular ones. My point is, I think I know the reason it's popular. Mine isn't modded and I love it. My Les Paul and fat Strat do, too.

great product even though it says blues, you can use it with versitality
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
This pedal is awsome: great for punk and other types of alternative, amazing for blues. Just plug it in and play the tone kicks on my guitar. The gain is so much better than on my amp real responsive and react with more agression or less agression on harmonics. over all id give it 20 stars but only goes up to 5. so if u like punk, classic rock, blues this pedal is for u

Better than the SD-1
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
It is kinda comparable to the Super Overdrive, but the notes are clearer... when you play a chord, you hear every note. It's perfect for a rhythm (in my case, funk rhythms with a bit of saturation once in a while) and has a great bluesy tone if you give it more gain. I was looking for something clear, clean and bright. And for this price, there's nothing better.

Siren and banshee in one!
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
First of all, the battery was really easy to replace - the pedal was easy to get up and running in no time. I followed Boss's suggested settings in order to sample the palette of sounds. I was quite impressed, as the range of sounds I got out of it went far beyond just blues; everything from 70's power rock to Jet's style of twangy, "sticky" distortion to a chill drive that went well with Incubus. Contrary to popular opinion, though, it does not take all that long to find the unique sound you want - I've already found the setting I'm going to use for the next 12 years. This pedal kicks!

Blues Driver- boss's best fuzz
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
I had almost given up on boss in the distortion area, having tried the ds-1, od-3, super overdrive and the metalzone. These pedals were either too shrill or muddy, and lacked dynamics. The Blues has a good balanced tone and cleans up with your guitar's volume nob. It sounds best with the gain between 9 and 12 oclock, at max it gets too muddy. My only criticism is that with the gain at minimum, the decay of a sustained note doesn't sound natural but kind of fizzles out abruptly.

BEST PEDAL
Comments about Boss BD-2 Blues Driver Pedal:
Great for blues and classic rock. Has great sustain, has an excellent crunch, and great tone. I barley use any of my other distortion/overdrive pedals anymore. If you are thinking about purchasing it then you should do so.
