Does your amp go to 11?

By Harrison Wagner

from Undisclosed

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I judge a distortion unit first by its ability to produce bluesy tone. I tried to recreate a tweed bassman sound, and something a bit more funky like the VOX AC30. It did a fine job of that for my tastes. But when I wanted to make it pound out that punchy Marshall hot-rod sound, it had no problem. But then when it came to harmonics... WOW! You can easily create an awesome singing feedback that is beyond anything out there! It truly blows me away! Battery killer? Who cares? This thing is pound for pound better than anything I've ever used!

Finally!!!!!!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

A grat frakin pedal at last!!! This thing is a little tank!!! I'm a huge Black Label Society fan and with this baby you can get that fat Zakk Wylde sound without dealing with the feedback like you would with the ZW overdrive. And then lets talk about the other sounds you can drain out of this box. My other beloved band, SOulfly can be emulated to perfection with the "insane" setting reccomended in the manual. Other couple of vintage Metal sounds can also be achieved. I run this through Crate amp and a ESP Viper with 81/85 EMG's. Gate is really useful and necessary at the setting I got it on. The ONLY drawback to this beauty is the lack of sustain when putting the gate level to 2. BUT it really isnt that short either as the guy in the video demo on the line 6 website makes it to be. You can ring out a cord or a single note for good 5 seconds before the gate closes it. I've been through a few pedals including Bosses metalzone in my short playing career and I found myself a keeper. Thanks Line 6 and Music123!!Oh, buy Line 6 class 2 9V power supply. Only $16

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

Great distortion pedal! If your one of the people that just like to max out all your knobs you'll be disappointed, you have to mess with the settings for a few minutes but I'm sure theres something for everyone in this pedal!

Perfect for metal

By whisper

from Poland

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I was quite afraid when I decided to buy it cause I've heard many (very different) opinions about it. When I first plugged it in I was even disappointed. But after messing around for a while I found that I can set almost every kind of gain.I couldn't believe that it is so effective - it makes absolutely no noises. I recommend it to everyone playing heavy stuff.

Great Pedal...

By Paul ...

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

Alright, well, let's see here. The ONLY two problems I've ever had with this pedal are the fact that it chews up 9 volt batteries like a monster, and that when set at noise gate 0 (in order to achieve A-class pinched harmonics), the feedback and noise is unbearably loud. Both problems, can be fixed, though. Go and buy a 9 volt power supply, and don't play heavy metal! Problem solved! All in all, great distortion.

Awesome for palm muting and screaming squeals.

By Lespaulman

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I just got this pedal, its my first. And I spent my 2 months worth of allowance to get this. When I play with my band we play the usual, nice clean then distorted, and when I turn this baby on it just blows me away. I love the sound especially with any Metallica or Sum 41 song. It's great and worth every penny.

Best distortion pedal ever!

By harv711

from Indiana

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

This uber distortion easily beats all the pedals I've tried before... its not even close. There is a built in noise gate, so its quiet as a mouse if you want it to be. It does suck the juice, I got about 2 hrs playing threw 1 nine volt, so I hooked it up to my 1 spot. I match the uber pedal with an MXR 10 band EQ and play it on a Marshall JCM 2000 DSL and it sounds killer!

Pedal among pedals

By Akuma

from Benton City, Washington

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

Not only is this the most versatile and well built pedal one could ask for, it is also the quietest. I play mine through a Crate GT65 and with the gate on, it makes as much noise as the clean channel--none. Having a mid-range scoop knob, gain knob, and three different distortion settings really makes this pedal worth buying. You can dial in a nice classic rock overdrive sound or a ridiculously heavy distortion like Lamb of God. I seriously doubt I'll ever buy another distortion pedal.

Awesome

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I recently acquired this pedal and I have to say it is great. I love how you can mix and match the pedal to match just about anything. With it in my lineup right now is an Ibanez Tube screamer. The tube screamer really brings it out. I highly recommend Uber Metal to any die hard metal fan.

No problems here!

Comments about Line 6 ToneCore Uber Metal Distortion Pedal:

I just got this and I have no noise problem whatsoever. I use an ENGL fireball tube amp with this. It's very close to the sound of my distortion channel. My amp is very similar to the Uberschall amp which this pedal is trying to mimic(not gritty enough). It does a pretty good job. It was basically plug-n-play for on my amps clean channel. I'm not sure why other people are having terrible noise problems. I don't even have to use the built in gate, but if I do it is dead silent. If you are experiencing noise and you tried everything...I must ask if you tried new pickups? Imported guitars/pickups are notorious for noise problems due to poor wiring, bad shielding, and cheap electronic parts(vol/tone pots). Things I didn't like: I put new battery in... played for 30mins and then it started cutting in and out as well as off/on! I was like crap it's a lemon. It turns out this thing is just a big juice hog! I used my universal power adapter and it's working normal again. I can't believe they don't include an AC adapter because it's such a battery killer. The only other pedal I ever experienced this from was a Frantone Hepcat boutique pedal. The 2nd thing I don't like are the controls. They are cheap plastic and could be snapped off. I don't know why they took the cheap way out on the controls because the entire housing is metal?!
