Comments about Electro-Harmonix XO Hum Debugger Hum Eliminator Guitar Effects Pedal:
Apparently my house doesn't have the cleanest power or there is intereference or whatever, but the noise was so bad, I could not enjoy playing any of my guitars with single coil pickups. The noise was just overbearing. I had been searching for a solution to that problem and was looking into some outlet and transformer-based hum eliminators when this pedal came along. Based on the support detail of the outlet and transformer style hum eliminators, the descriptions did not convince me that those would work so I decided to try this instead. It is truly amazing! I can now enjoy playing guitars that I have practically never played due to noise and now I notice that really every guitar sounds better because the noise in the background is no longer there. I haven't noticed any degradation of tone in the process of eliminating the noise either. Like I said in the title, I was so impressed with the first one, I have now bought another and am working my way toward having one for each amp that I have. My only problem with this is that I wish it wasn't a pedal requiring a very specific power supply. Maybe one day, there will be direct guitar or amp plugin style available like the orignal EH LPB1s, but in order to do that the power supply has to be eliminated and I suspect the power supply is one of the key components in what makes this work. In any case, I highly recommend the hum debugger.
