A classic design, beautifully crafted.

The warm, clear tone of the Riviera electric guitar makes it a perfect instrument for jazz, blues, or country. Its semi-hollow body is crafted of laminated maple. A set mahogany C-shaped neck provides sustain and playing comfort. The 3 Alnico V P-90s produce a fatter, warmer single-coil tone for extra sass while a Bigsby vibrato tailpiece delivers the twang that has been a favorite for decades.

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

Couldn't be happier with is guitar, its is just a breeze to play, put some new flatwound Jazz string onto it, but that's all, there was not a mark on it for condition 2, so I more than happy with the service and the outcome of this purchase. It's simply Awesome!

It said gently used, but it must've been gently used by a man made of marshmallow. Looks brand new. Love it. LOVE.

Amazingly Beautiful Instrument - and not just "for the money"!

      By MamaMojo

      from Eastern USA

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

My brother, who is also a guitarist and collector, recently brought this guitar to my home while on vacation to show me one of his latest finds. I'll admitt that I can be a bit of a snob when it comes to musical instruments, so when I saw the Epiphone lable on the headstock I didn't think much of it. It's a beautiful guitar, no question about it, but I didn't expect it to sound nearly as great as it looks. He plugged that guitar into my Peavey Classic 30 with a spring reverb unit on it and my head must have spun around like Linda Blair's did in Poltergeist. I could not believe the amazing tone that I was hearing! From an Epiphone!!!! An older Epiphone, yes, but an Epiphone built in China????

When my brother left, he took the guitar with him (I know, what kind of brother would do a thing like that?). But that guitar never really left my thoughts for very long. I had played it a lot during it's visit to my home and now I wanted one of my own. Well, I just received my very own version of this instrument and it is every bit as gorgeous as my brother's guitar. I've spent a good while reacquainting myself with this instrument and I think that I can safely say that it is now one of my all-time favorites in my collection of nearly 35 guitars for playing Blues, Jazz, Rock, etc. The action was good right out of the box, as were all of the jacks, knobs, tuners, etc. My strings were even fine, although I know a number of people have suggested replacing them on receipt of the instrument -- and that's good advice in my book. The fingerboard needed a little lemon oil spray to get it back to how it should have looked, but that was my only complaint (and I often have to oil them when I get new guitars anyway because they can appear dry.... but don't overdo it with that stuff....).

As far as the operation/mechanics of the guitar, my only complaint/suggestion is to add a central volume control while also keeping the individual volume controls for each of the 3 pups. I have an older Jazz guitar that has this set-up, but there is also a central control for all 3 pups. The 3-way switch does't shut the pups off, so if you want a desired tone, you need to set the volume to your liking on each individual pup for the switch to be effective. That's pretty standard on a lot of these types of guitars (from what I've seen), but I also think it would be nice to add these other options. The P-90s on this guitar are just as clear as they should be and I think that you'd be hard-pressed to find nicer ones from any other manufacturer to replace them with. I have played the "other" major manufacturer's version of these types of instruments and I am not hearing a difference. Seymore Duncan's might be better, but not that much if any.

All and all, this is a wonderfully built instrument with great craftsmanship and a great sound. I so often hear people make the statement that a particular guitar is a great instrument "for the money." Well, this is a great instrument, period. If it cost 5 times as much as it does, it would still be a great instrument and worth it, in my view. I've seen much worse craftsmanship on far more expensive instruments, and as I said - mine was flawless. The dedicated hardshell case is nothing short of a work of art!

I'm thrilled with my purchase of this guitar and I recommend it with no reservations what-so-ever! Happy playing!!!!!

      You NEED this!

      By SHCC

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

Beautiful, sonically varied in its settings and cool beyond words, especiaaly onstage. Every other guitarist mobbed me at my last show in order to ask for the chance to try this out. It's a Limited Edition, so it will be gone sooner than you think. I would just as soon be the only guy with one of these, but that really isn't fair to other players. If this appeals to you, buy it or regret letting it slip away.

      Beautiful Guitar!!

      By George-J-H.Q

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

Bought this Epiphone recently from Music123. It's absolutely Beatiful! It's amazing how they can make it for such a low price. If I didn't know I'd think it cost three times as much! Beautiful sound and the neck plays like butter! A tad bigger neck than my strat or jaguar but still easy and a joy to play! It has 3 volume controls and 1 tone. The Bigsby is top qulaity! Grover tunners! Only Con: After 5 days of having the guitar the output lack fell into the hollow body; it wasn't tightened! Got that re-installed locally on warranty. Repair told me the volume pots were also a tad loose! In spite of this, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat! What a fanastic buy! Buy it!! Just make sure you check to be sure everything is tightened!!

      TONE! LOOKS! FANTASTIC!

      By VOX66

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

GORGEOUS guitar that I find myself gazing at while it's just hanging in the stand! I bought this to play and play it does.....I never seem to fail to get the tone I'm looking for via the 3 P93s. A little feedback & discreet usage of the bigsby can make her sing & cry! I have read one criticism that I have found true however; you cannot lower the action low like an Epi DOT or Sheraton..the bridge P93 is too tall to allow the bridge to get that low. I got around that by removing the pickup and carefully sanding down the pick up ring to the right height...voila! IT's Dialed in now! BUY ONE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!

      Unreal!

      By Jack Hamilton

      from Harold, KY

Comments about Epiphone Limited Edition Riviera Custom P93 Electric Guitar:

After having this guitar for around four months, it's still hard for me to believe the low price I paid. 1st, the Riviera is absolutely beautiful!! 2nd, the sound is out of this world! 3rd, this guitar is a dream to play! If you dig this style of this guitar and love the sounds of P90's just buy it. Everything on mine was tight and solid out of the box. All I did was lower the action just a little, adjusted the intonation and tapped down the 3rd and 4th frets. It sounds as good as anything I've ever heard and much better than most I started playing in the 4th grade and am 58 yrs old, so I have heard many.
