I put these on my Rogue acoustic bass guitar and what a difference. Much crisper sound then those cheap strings that came on it. Smooth and a pleasure to play. Spend the extra money and get the best.

The title says it all. These strings have a great sound. Very nice low end without being too boomy and not too much high so that you don't feel like your playing a piano. Very silky feel to the strings. Very comfortable to play. A great way to make any acoustic bass sound better.

If the premise you are operating under is that cheaper is better, let me just say that although you can spend less money for a set of strings, the Elixirs will last so much longer than other acoustic bass strings that you will ultimately save money. I play fingerstyle and have played stainless Rotosounds on my electric basses because my hands sweat so much, but I didn't really have a good solution for my acoustic basses. I purchased a Tacoma CB10 and it came equipped with Elixirs and I have to say that they are the best acoustic bass strings you can get because they never go dead. The coating will peel a little, and so the strings may get a little fuzzy, but it doesn't affect play or sound. They are slick, durable, and sound great!
