MXL Omnidirectional capsule for use with the MXL 993 condenser microphone.
Omidirectional capsules offer better off-axis high-frequency response than cardioid mics. They're best used for instruments recorded in good-sounding live rooms or ensemble recording. Even close-miked, an omni will always give a sense of more distance from the source than cardioid.
