Purchasing a condenser mic was anticipated to be a step up in price along with quality. A bonus with this mic is that it cost less than the Shure SM58 I was using and is far superior on all measures of performance. Finally, the company has been excellent to work with for technical issues. I have recommended this mic and 123 to all my musician friends who home record.

Used for home digital recording of vocal, guitar and mostly acoustic instruments.
Very easy to use, sounds very clean and clear, a definite step-up from SM 57 & 58 for this kind of home studio use. I also got the double layer windscreen for vocal recording and they come out very natural sounding, even soft, breathy close-ups.
A bit heavy, tipped-over my tripod boomstand, but withstood the crash to the floor while in the shockmount. I actually like that it's heavy and solid though - doesn't seem cheap.

This was a really good deal on this type of microphone. I comes with everything needed for stands. You will need 2 quality cables, a microphone stand & a phantom power supply to get operational. Once done this equipment picks up & broadcasts well. I also ordered a wind screen.

This thing is the best [$] I have ever spent on a microphone. Great range & pickup. I use it with Congas in a Mass Choir as well as some guest Rock stuff! You will need to get 2 monster 3 prong cables & a phantom power unit. You will still be way under the [$] msrp of the microphone with this. I plug mine into a Fender PRO150 amp system.

morover coming to the microphone ,, the microphone works nice and it has a very good vocal quality and i am into rap music so it gives a good input and i loved it and it depends on your mixing and mastering skills also how you get the voice

Pricewise you cannot go wrong with the MXL 990 condenser mike. I've used more expensive mikes than the 990 and I seem to always go back home and use my 990. Only thing I always recommend is invest in a good pop filter for it. You just don't need those annoying popping P's in your recordings.

I just recieved my MXL 990 and was very amazed at the sound quality of this mic.I use this for vocals and i am very impressed.This mic is very sensitive to any sound which you want for a good vocal reproduction.I have a loud rock and roll voice and it produces an even level.If you have a soft voice this mic would make it much stronger and livelier. It is crisp and clear and will record your voice as if it were any high line microphone.I highly recommend as part of your recording gear.

This pair of MXL 990 mikes that I bought really astound me. They are VERY sensitive and will pick up things you may not want to hear on a recording (between takes I was eating a chicken wing, with my mouth closed, and I could hear and see the chewing noise on the decibel meter with the mic several inches away!). As I was wearing closed Sony Professional headphones, I also was surprised (shocked) to get feedback when I turned my monitor gain a bit too high.
These microphones give me crisp, clean treble, and sharp, well-defined bass. Very impressive condenser mics (just make sure you have phantom power).
These are amazing mics (with shock mount and foam lined carrying case) at a price I could not afford to miss out on.

I've used this mic for recording acoustic guitar and for vocals, with good results. Did have a failure with it during the warranty period, as even with careful handling, the capsule dislodged from its holder.

I own 4 MICs total, this is my favorite Microphone. It was packaged with care. I treat this MIC as my "Baby", ....I do Voice Over work, and utilize this 990 as my main MIC to record with. I truely feel, I received the greatest deal on this microphone. Everytime I look at and use this microphone, I can't believe the quality build and sound spectrum range of it.....Awesome.
