This pickup is the only choice for someone who plays a quiet instrument (I play bassoon). All of the tenor saxes, baritones and bass clarinets drown me out when I tune, and this guarantees that the tuner will only register your note, and not the person blasting their brains out.

The contact mic basically picks up the vibrations coming from an instrument which is really neat. Just by clipping this onto the bell of my trumpet and the tuner (I use the Korg CA30) will pick up the sound just as well if it was getting it by the built-in mic. So if you're in a room filled with blasting saxophones, clarinets, trombones, etc, it's an awesome item to use as it won't detect them one bit!

I just used this over the weekend and it makes it so much easier to read the tuner. Takes a lot of the guess work out setting up the Pipe Chanter.

Excellent pick-up microphone particularly, for low range instruments like double bass. Out performed other brands I have tried. Long cable and 1" clipping opening come handy. Irreplaceable in noisy environment.
