Setting a new price-to-performance standard in drum set mics.
Putting a completely new angle on miking toms and snares, the PL35 establishes a new price-to-performance standard for dynamic drum set microphones. Designed for super-fast transient response, and sonically-voiced to deliver open and natural tom and snare sounds, it employs a unique physical design that eliminates the need for right-angle XLR connectors, minimizing cable clutter over the drum. In addition to all of its other outstanding features, it also includes a clever snap-on drum rim clamp that mounts the mic directly to just about any brand drum rim. With its unique design, drum rim clamp, integrated swivel and supercardioid polar pattern for isolation, the PL35 will take its place as a must have microphone for outstanding live sound and recording studio performance.

The right stuff
Comments about Electro-Voice PL35 Drum Microphone:
I play Classic Rock professionally. I have tried a lot of mics on my drums, toms specifically. I use twelve mics on my kit currently, six on the cymbals and six on the drums. I use an AKG D-112 on the Kick, Shure SM-57 for the Snare and EV PL-35s on my 4 Toms. I run all of these through DBX noise gates. WOW, there is a presence from these mics that is difficult to describe. Punchy, without saturation or distortion, full tone top to bottom. The provided mounts were of no use to me as they would not fit the rims. I use the Shure A-56D mic holder. The EV PL-35s are perfect for tight spaces and because of their angle shape, they don't interfere with the cymbals. Simply put, they are great mics, I love them and highly recommend them. They are definitely, the Right Stuff.
