Awesome Mic!!!!!
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
I play Norteno music which is for those of you that don't know its a style of music where the saxophone accompanies the accordion. I was missing the edge and brightness in my sound that this style of music requires. I had tried out a Beta 58 and was amazed by the difference it made in my sound. I was determined to buy the Beta until a salesperson talked me into trying out this mic and it just blew me away. It gave me the response that I was lacking.I know this is a vocal mic but it works very well on the sax. Now for every gig this is the only mic I use and will probably use for quite a while

Love the bass response
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
I am a bass singer/bass voice, sing harmonies in a bluegrass/roots band. I had tried other (cheaper) mics, but was left cold with the sound of my voice. When I read about these mics having improved bass response, I wanted to try it. Now I own it, and love it, and wouldn't use another brand. One satisfied customer here.

EV keeps putting' out the excellent stuff...
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
Got this to use with a Karaoke add-on to my existing PA system. Glad I did. It really makes everyone who uses it shine (in some cases not so nice) through. I take it with me when I do a guest spot at a Karaoke bar and plug it in in place of the house mike. WOW, what a difference it makes. The clarity is totally awesome! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this mike to anyone. I also own an EV PL77A condenser mic which I purchased in 1980. I mention that because it is still working fabulously. Been dropped on the cement floor from the stage once and on the floor a couple of other times. Not a problem has ever occurred with it. I expect the same great hardiness from the EV 767. EV just makes great products!

Excellent microphone
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
I don't use anything else. It always cuts through without feedback. Carry 2 spares in case. Clarity and punch, for a vocalist that's very important.

The Ferrarri of mics
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
This mic is a lot like a very fast sports car. A lot of fun and very good at what it does, however if you don't know what you are doing with a mic it can get you into trouble in a hurry. It's pick up pattern is very sensitive to change. If you are one of these that lets the mic position wander on you, DO NOT BUY IT. However if you know how to move a mic around just a little to get the effects you want it is a beauty. Handling noise is non-existent and you can't break the thing up. If you want bass response this is your baby. Oddly enough, with the great bass response and boost this mic has, if you check the specs it will out handle most any mic out there in upper end also. We use 5 of these in a Gospel group and it handles everything from our bass singer to our super high sopranos. I have yet to see anyone cause this mic to clip. But remember, if it's going to be your first mic, buy something a little more forgiving.

Very Hot
Comments about Electro-Voice N/D767a Dynamic Supercardioid Vocal Microphone:
When I first used this mic some years ago I was completely sold. however, after much experience with this and other top mics I am less thrilled by it. The very things I liked about it at first now bother me. too hot, frequently hits the peak I suspect at just certain frequencies. Difficult to use with other mics. Very sharp presence which I find unnatural and grating at times. But it does really cut thru like no other. If you have a crappy system this will seem like a magic mic, if you have a very revealing system this mic will anoy you to no end.
