This is my second review (I went ahead and bought a second unit). It's great - two is better than one for sure! Second unit got a bit beaten up in transit - bracket was bent (not a big deal) and a repeater LED (on the back side) was pushed in - still working, so I left it alone. I may open it up and push it back sometime - I'm fussy like that!. Better packaging for UPS may have helped, but you cab tell that the box must have been dropped hard. A bottle of fog juice in the same box had the top crushed down completely. All in all a tribute to the solid construction that it works just fine even after a shock impact.

These lights have two controls: speed & sound activation. The speed control will just run through the four colored lights at a set pace, while the sound control is supposed to change the color on major beats. I haven't been able to get them to do anythyng but blink spastically fast, no matter how low I turn the sound threshold. (Despite the pictures, these lights only work one color at a time & cycle through the four colors.) I will say they are light weight and fairly small.

Great value. Lots of light output for residential parties. Cord is very short at 40", but is standard and can be replaced by a longer one (the short one can then be used as the daisy chain patch cord from one effect to another). Sound sensitivity is a bit on the low side - unit needs to be next to (or on) speaker cabinet. All in all a great modern LED interpretation of the classic four color sound sensitive light. Requires very little power (6 watts) and only 0.9A - leaving plenty spare for other equipment / effects on same circuit. Great for pool entertainment area (no glass allowed.) Mounts easily too - just 2.7lbs and plenty of space around the pre-drilled bracket to work. I'll probably be buying another soon.

I was worried this would not be very bright since there is a conventional version, and this LED version. Well, I did not have to worry. I found the LED's very bright. It is extremely compact and versatile. I only have 2 complaints with it: 1- The power cord it comes with is extremely short. Fortunately it uses a standard power cable so it isn't much of an issue. 2- I found the sound activation more like vibration activation. In other words it took a pretty good physical vibration for the lights to react at the most sensitive setting. In order to get it to react, I had to place the unit near my very near my sub woofer and on the same floor surface so it would pick up the vibrations.
