The Chauvet Color Palette is impressive with ample lighting capacity as well as many automated settings. The low power demand is a real plus. The typical stage does not have adequate power to accomodate inefficient incondescent stage lighting which can adversely effect your equipment. LED lighting is the only way to go. It is new, I can't say anything about durability however, my other Chauvet equipment has held up very well.

I picked up a couple of these, they have treated me very well. They are lightweight and bright, and fill up a space quite well with bright color. There are many built in programs, a few of which are very nice, and half which could have been left out. There is RGB control over the panel broken into 8 squares, which is nice, though the set up of it is a little flawed. I haven't tried any similar products, so I can't compare, but if you're looking for a nice wash light that is more like an effect light, this is for you. Its great setting to sound active, full color change to the beat - have a couple of them changing the color of the whole room.
