Delivers massive bass power for demanding environments.
The Cerwin-Vega AB-36C Afterburner speaker is a highly advanced design that incorporates Cerwin-Vega's 50 years of experience in building some of the industry's best-known subwoofers. Its design makes it ideal for use in the most demanding environments where pure bass power is the goal, such as installations, live sound, mobile DJs, and club applications.
With 6-1/2' of folded horn chamber length in the cabinet, the AB-36C Folded Horn Subwoofer has bass frequency extension similar to a 36" driver with even more SPL performance. The AB-36C features Stroker Technology for increased power handling, decreased distortion, and radial cooling fins. A striking die-cast door has improved heat dissipation capabilities and sports a Stroker 18 metal badge. In addition, the curved horn mouth bracing provides a smoother frequency response and the enhanced front corner bracing offers extra durability.
Cerwin-Vega! Folded Horns: Often Imitated, Never Duplicated Cerwin-Vega’s folded horn subwoofers are THE standard when it comes to folded horns. These subwoofers combine advanced design, superior speaker technology and precision manufacturing to deliver a product that is truly a sonic experience. The Cerwin-Vega! folded horns have been acoustically optimized to achieve high output and low distortion while maintaining clarity and impact. Special attention to rear chamber, throat geometry, and horn profile results in a folded horn design that doesn’t exhibit the typical horn coloration of competing products. Cerwin-Vega! folded horns contain a longer sound path which amplifies the bass frequencies while keeping the enclosure compact in size for portability. The path length and flare rate deliver bone crushing low-end down to 29 Hz. Many companies attempt to duplicate Cerwin-Vega’s performance in folded horns, but ultimately they all fall (and sound) flat. A great folded horn is as much about the loudspeaker driver design as it is about the cabinet geometry. Cerwin-Vega! is the ONLY company (in our not so humble, 50+ years of experience opinion) to get all of these factors perfectly tuned and balanced. A Cerwin-Vega! folded horn plays louder, sounds better and will stick with you longer than the “clones.” Brutally Efficient Cerwin-Vega! folded horns, on average, produce 6 dB more output at 1 watt than ported direct fire subwoofers. This results in two times the SPL output with half the number of drivers. System costs are drastically reduced due to the need for fewer cabinets. Powering far fewer cabinets yields large cost savings in amplification. The net result is loud sub bass that moves enough air to blow the hairpiece off the competition. If you do pair the folded horns, you’ll get the added benefit of an increased horn mouth area effectively extending the low frequency range and mutual low frequency coupling, which doubles the low frequency amplitude. The result? A mind-blowing level of bass performance like nothing you've experienced. Ready for Roadies Of course, the C-Series folded horn systems have integrated wheels and a new Cerwin-Vega! Ergonomic handle for increased portability. The ergonomic design allows the C-Series to be moved by a single person. Even the mighty TS-42 folded horn is designed to pass through standard doorways with ease.
Order soon. CV's subwoofer technology has been among its mainstays for decades.

Comments about Cerwin-Vega AB-36C Afterburner 18" Folded Horn Subwoofer Speaker:
If you want a plug and play bass cab that has thundering lows for a good price look no further, these cabs kick . I have 4 of these cabs and run a crown xti 4000 in bridge mode on each pair and they just keep pushing with no issues what so ever. I've had them for 3 years now and played all sizes of venues 500 to 2500 seating. Outdoor shows not a problem though I plan on buying another pair for the larger venues. Once in a while you do have to tighten the screws on the casters depending on how rough your are loading in and out, otherwise they seem to be rock solid road worthy and can handle the most demanding lows. The built in casters and handle makes loading and unloading a breeze, with one man. The ease of use, road worthy and quality lows makes this the perfect bass cab for any style of music in medium to large venues.
