Comments about Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200:

Even though the 12ax7 is a good tube, you will want to change this out for a JAN Philips 5751 Black Sable. It will compare to Pre Amps that cost 2K+. But changing the tube out is no easy task. I did it but it wasn't easy. It was well worth adding the 5751 Tube because it gives a lower sweetspot and you can get to it without causing clipping at the output. I highly recommend this Unit but order a lower gain, low microphonics tube with balanced triodes. You can get one for a 15 spot (Jan Philips 12AU7) from TubeDepot.com and that includes shipping. Well worth the money for the lower gain tube because this unit ROCKS!!!

Was blown away with the performance of this mic pre

By Ian Z.

from Michigan

Comments about Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200:

I bought this because I was in a pinch, I had a session to do and needed more mic pre's ( I record direct from mic, to mic pre, directly to a digital recorder) I now use this as one of my regular mic pre's, feeding a comp/limiter and hit the front-end of the recorder. What was bought as a stand-by mic pre's part of the main lineup now.

Best bang per $ per Channel...

By S 2

from Twin Cities MN

Comments about Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200:

Used with AKG C100S mic male vocals are very good and female vocals are outstanding. Acoustic guitar is very good also. Stay conservative on mic gain levels and love it. Also a good DI box. Very quiet. The EQ is a little confusing and tedious to me, but I haven't had to use it so I haven't practiced with it. I have used it flat with good results. Hard to beat for two channels. Rates five stars for price category.

Adds incredible presence to vocals

By C.J. Baker

from Farmington Hills, Michigan

Comments about Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200:

Using this preamp, I am amazed at the difference in presence and transparency in both vocals and guitar acoustic. I was skeptical of improving the sound of my Yamaha amp with it's super effects chip, but I was really impressed at how much it improved the sound. Warmer and more transparent sound all the way around. Nice piece for folks who grew up in the era of tubes. Apparently, they're making a come back.

Unit would be great if there was 2 tubes.

By The "G" man

Comments about Behringer ULTRAGAIN PRO MIC2200:

This seems like a very tasteful unit but if there were 1 tube per channel, that would definitely help. Nice added features such as the parametric EQ. Behringer products seem very well constructed and durable.
