Outstanding All-Around Microphone
Comments about Behringer B-5 Condenser Microphone:
As usual, Behrenger has come up with an inexpensive way to manufacture a quality, studio and stage microphone. We have a large inventory of Behrenger microphones in our performances and each has a good, strong, hot signal. This Condenser Microphone is no different. It's small size and configuration may hide the fact that this is one microphone with a huge voice that is easily adjusted for each vocalist. We have taken the extra step to start using this microphones on stage at large venues where everything is run through the board. Use it to record, to rehearse, and to perform.

Good for the money.
Comments about Behringer B-5 Condenser Microphone:
My thoughts substantially match Douglas' (6/29/2004), he wrote "This is a pretty good dual capsule condenser mic for the money. I have compared it to my Oktava MK 012...and it does not have the the warmth of the MK 012. It sounds pretty good for $90, but in this case, you get what you pay for." I also compare this to my Oktava 012. Not nearly the quality mic. Somewhat thin sounding overall. Dual capsules are a nice feature. Good mic for general use where true high quality sound is not needed.

Worth the asking price
Comments about Behringer B-5 Condenser Microphone:
This is a pretty good dual capsule condenser mic for the money. Contrary to rumor, it is not identical to the Studio Projects C4, a pair of which I also own. I have compared it to my Oktava MK 012 and the SP C4 and it does not have the the warmth of the MK 012 or the high end sheen of the C4. It sounds pretty good for $90, but in this case, you get what you pay for. I think it will be fine for mic'ing percussion for live performances, but I would reach for one of the other mics for serious recording.
