Heavy and clunky

By Lorena

About Me Professional Musician

Pros

  • Good Bow Holder

Cons

  • Difficult To Transport

Best Uses

  • Home Studio

Comments about Glasser Violin/Viola Stand:

This is a heavy, clunky and not portable stand. The neck holder does not lock in place, but is easily pushed out of place. The bow holder has a lock and this is what the neck holder needs. The legs only open 6 inches - not very wide.
The padding on the neck and bottom is good.

Glasser Violin Stand

By Jerry-qZjQ6

from roy, utaj

Comments about Glasser Violin/Viola Stand:

Great little stand. I had a fiddle stand for performance the fiddle hung from. It was almost 25 years old . I like this better becasue it's supported from the bottomn and has the "lock in place" latch at the top to keep it from falling out.

Heavy and weak item - not recommended

By shimmy

Comments about Glasser Violin/Viola Stand:

I ahave two stands, I have this one I just bought and I have another one "Hercules", which I bought a year ago for cheaper. The Glasser bow can only be good for home use or when it's always opened - it's definitely not portable, it's very heavy and it already got broken and curved.

Broke on second use

By Ken Washburn

from Castle Rock, CO

Comments about Glasser Violin/Viola Stand:

I was dissappointed wtih this stand as the center rivot broke the second time I used it (within a week). It has kind of a strange design as you have to fully exend the two vertical rods before opening out the legs. When you do open the legs, it ends up bending the bottom of the two rods slightly. This stresses the two small cylinders that hold the rods and the center hinge. Then you need to push the rods back to their original position before closing the legs. The other rivots didn't feel that solid either and it didn't stand level (i.e. it had a slight wobble on hard surface - not bad on carpet though). I will be asking for a refund. To Music123's credit, the ordering experience (along with another keyboard stand) were great.

Sturdy and compact

By Maria

from New York, NY

Comments about Glasser Violin/Viola Stand:

I really like the stand - there's a bow holder and a clip to keep the violin from falling off its hook. It folds down to a compact size and is weighted enough not to fall over easily.
