The LR-40 attaches to the tension rods of snare or tenor drums without any additional tools. It allows the drum to rest on your knee and has the ability to tilt up and down, as well as rotate clockwise and counterclockwise, for the most comfortable fit. The Pearl LR-40 was designed to attach up to a 20" tenor drum and was updated with comfort foam padding for added support and a lock-washer for stability.

Comments about Pearl LR-40 Leg Rest for Snare Drum:
I do this to help other pipe bands who are looking for quality gear. Like most pipe bands, there is a limited amount of money. I really can't afford to make mistakes.I needed to find a leg rest, on the fly. Looked around the internet for a bargain. No such thing. Leg rest are just kind of expensive for what you get. Lets face it; it's just a couple of pieces of bent metal, a spring, and some foam padding. And probably made in China for a couple of dollars. If your not using a drum carrier, then a leg rest is as important as a pair of drum sticks! So, you're kind of stuck. Now I am done with my rant about price. Most leg rest are about the same price. So, then it comes down to construction. I chose the LR-40 Leg Rest for Snare Drum because it had more meat & potatoes to it. The picture was very accurate. It is rock-solid in it's construction. One of the things I like most about this rest is, the piece of metal that is curved to fit the conture of your leg is wider than the other rest we have purchased. And the padding is more generous, as well. This should make those long parades more bearable. I believe this leg rest will serve the band well until we move to the more-expensive drum carriers.
