Believe it or not, good hi-hats

By

from California

Comments about Zildjian A Z-MAC Cymbal Pair:

I bought a used pair of 14" Z-MACs to replace a beaten old pair of Paiste entry-level hi-hats... I knew what sound I was looking for but none of the "real" hi-hats set up in the store came close... But the 14" Z-MACs on a hi-hat stand sound great. They are very close to original New Beats. They don't have a lot of overwhelming tones like some of the thicker Rock style hi-hats that are on the market today, and this allows some more intricate stickings and pedal uses. They are usually priced a little lower than normal hi-hat sets, and it may be your good fortune to find a slightly used set like I did, with the bright edges already worn off, so to speak. If nothing else, they make an interesting (and economical) auxiliary hat set.
