As provided, the vest places the drum blocking your view, as with some other harnesses. Bending/shaping is hard/scary but worth it. Top links need to be added to lower the drum to see ahead. The vest is light and will not slip off shoulders using vinyl uniforms. The foam padding is not perfect and migrates, as recently experienced in first-use. Overall, it's a good, secure harness.
