This is our 2nd ProTec Sousaphone Gig Bag. We're a two sousaphone family, and figured it was time to do away with the hard case that took up way too much room on road trips. The ProTec bag is compact and sturdy. There is a very useful large pocket on the front and the backpack straps make it easy to move. I have one complaint compared to the previous version of this gig bag, though. The compartment for the bell is quite small. The first time I put the bell of our late '50s King Fiberglass Sousa in, one of the "petals" on the case ripped a little because the fit was so tight. The bell of our Reynolds Fiberglass Sousa won't even fit in this one, although it fits in the previous version of this bag. Plus, the bell compartment is not attached to the bottom of the case like it was in the previous version. This makes it much harder to get the bell in and out when you're holding the main body of your sousaphone. Overall, it's a great value for storing and transporting a sousaphone.
