This snare drum is great for all age groups. Its durable and will last you a life time if you know how to keep it up. When tuned right you will get a snare response like no other. The articulation and the sensitivity is great. I got evans hybrid batter and snare side head and it sounds heavenly. If you want a snare drum that will last and sounds great all for under 400$, then this will be a great investment

13" snares are obnoxious to tune - avoid at all costs. You may think they would work great for indoor marching, though I would say go with the shallow cut snares in the 14", or try a variety of heads (Remo Black/White Max are nice) before looking at going smaller. I've got them tuned just right at the moment, though I know in a couple weeks I'll have to make some big changes. In conclusion, PEARL makes some really great products, and I'm happy to be a Pearl Man (both marching and set).

I use a Remo BlackMax batter head on a 14x12 Pure White, and not once has this drum failed to amaze me.WWBW presents a deal for this snare drum that is unheard of. Drums like these would normally cost a fortune, but here, you will get much more than what you pay for.You will not be disappointed.

I have over 20 years of experience with percussion. I've had my fair share of drums. I have 2 pearl FFX's one with a white max and one with a Flame II both of them sound awesome there is not enough words in the dictionary to describe this drum. This drum is so easy to tune and adjust the snares. if your a beginner looking for a drum to start on this is the one for you. If your someone looking for your 20th drums and have played for 5 years this is the one for you. It is good for anyone of any age of any experience.

As a high school percussionist, I've had many chances to use this drum. Although our school does not use them, I purchased one for my own use. This drum is , I think, the best marching snare on the market and should be recommended to all drummers. This Pearl FFX snare drum, resonates well and is easy to manage, while only weighing 14 pounds. I hope you choose wisely and enjoy.

The FFX Champion snare drum is very loud. It has a quick response when you hit it. Perfect for people who like to long stroke roll. But you need to buy a Kevlar head or any other head because it comes with a head thats not really for it.S.E.C.for Ever Baby.................................

Things have really changed since 1976 I'm so glad it's for the better and after purchasing the pearl ffx I can say for the best. A few years had passed since the old line had played together and upon getting back together I'm so glad we chose the pearl championship line of products. It has made getting back together even more fun. WWBW definitely has the best prices around. To all those who make the same choice good luck and have fun playing.

I have marched snare for 8 years through high school and college, competing in various competitions. I was the drum captain my senior year (@ Clinton High School) and all four years of college. This drum, in the 14x12, is by far the most popular among most serious band programs. It offers an unmatched sound quality and unsurpassed durability. EXCELLENT DRUM!
