Good horn

Comments about Amati ASH 260 Sousaphone - Instrument Only:

We bought these sousaphones about 5 years ago. They were at the time the best alternative between fiberglass horns and the much more expensive large brass horns. I have to say that they have held up very well with the exception of a brace or two. The sound we get is bigger then I expected, and much cleaner and more focused then a fiberglass horn. The only real problem we have had with these horns are the neck and bits are a bit thin and need to be replaced every couple marching seasons. The overall sound is full, but there are some intonation problems (what sousa doesn't have some). The small size and light weight (for a sousaphone) has made it much easier to talk smaller people into giving the sousaphone a try.
