Does the job

Comments about Nady 401X Quad LT Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

Well, like many products made in China these days, it is not top notch. But then look at the price. Top notch is not what Nady is selling here. Having said that, I checked it out immediately after it arrived. It functioned OK. I hookled it up to my sound system and went 120 ft away from the antenna. I could hear it working alright. I then took it to a program where a number of people in the audience were given a chance to speak using the lavalier mics. A different amplification system from what I had at home was used there. No one had a problem hearing what was being said using the mics. In fact, only few people there knew that the mics were being tested. They did OK. I have a recording studio, and I certainly would not dream of using those mics for any recording, but Iif you just want microphones in a lapelle, cordless situation and you are not looking for squeaky, squeaky clean sound, then this is a good inexpensive system to invest in. One thing that was left out in the instruction for use which at first confused me was that there are four XLR outputs (one for each mic) and ONE quarter-inch output for all four mics at the back of the antenna box. I found out that if you used the XLR outputs, the volume controls on the front of the antenna were not operational, so you would have to use the volume controls on your own amplifier of mixer. On the other hand if you used the single, quarter inch output which was to operate all the mics, then the individual volume controls on the front of the antenna would then work to allow you to control each mic volume. THEY COULD HAVE SAID THAT IN THE OWNER'S MANUAL rather than for me having to find out. I almost thought that the volume controls were useless (and naturally I thought that cosomething was wrong with the antenna box) when I plugged in my XLR cable. Now I know that it is part of the design. Anyway, if you will buy a $40 or $50 microphone and be happy with that, then you will get about the same quality as the NADY mics.

Buy Something Else

Comments about Nady 401X Quad LT Wireless Lavalier Microphone System:

My church purchased this system and it was totally worthless. The body packs felt cheap and flimsy, the RF signals seemed weak and the audio quality was horrible. I'm still looking for a good mulitple lav system, but this is certainly not it.
