awesome! needs better instructions for setup

Comments about Yamaha WX5 MIDI Wind Controller:

I found that this was a very interesting and unique device. I had trouble setting it up. when you buy it make sure you also get a midi cable if you plan on hooking it up to a keyboard like I have done on my Yamaha psr 550. If you are a sax player you will love it. It can make normal saxophone sounds very quietly or outrageous techno sounds that you hear at skating rinks. I would rate this a 5 star if it had just a little better instructions on setting it up and came with a midi cable. I can record the midi to floppy disk and send it to emails on computer. I have been playing saxophones for a while and this was very easy to learn. If you want it in the key of C you should put it to the B flat setting so that when all keys are closed it will be B flat. That is the key of the piano. I use mainly the aero lead voice on it which sounds almost like a flute. This is a very good product for many saxophone players.

I love my Yamaha wx5

Comments about Yamaha WX5 MIDI Wind Controller:

I bought my Yamaha WX5 about 2 years ago to use with my partners in our studio in South Carolina and I have been extremely pleased. Although I have been a tenor sax player for many years the learning curve with the WX5 was longer than I would have expected. I will say that it has been well worth the time and effort. The WX5 has taken my music to a much higher level; I even impress myself from time to time. I will say that I have not been able to find a sax sound that I am pleased with but I guess I am to critical. I have been well pleased with all of the other sounds along with the controllerI am using the VL70 module at the present time. I am in the process of trying out other modules to use along with my VL70. I would strongly recommend the Yamaha WX5 it is a winner. Be warned the WX5 is not a toy it's the real deal.

When played with the right tone generator, this controller is tremendous!

Comments about Yamaha WX5 MIDI Wind Controller:

I have been using this controller for over a year now, and I love using it. I should mention that I am a woodwind instrument specialist, not a techno-freak. I use this instrument with a Yamaha PSR 740 keyboard, usually with the "sweet" sounds that are found on this and other high-end Yamaha keyboards. This controller makes the keyboards woodwind instrument sounds really sing. It is extremely responsive in that it reacts perfectly to all of the expressive nuances that can usually only be accomplished with "real" instruments. When I play a pit orchestra gig, I use this controller as a backup for all of my real woodwind instruments. Even my father, who despises technological innovations of all kinds, described this controller as a beautiful instrument when he saw me perform with it.
