when i just got it i was amazed of what i can do now. it has the best sound for drums. i request evreybody who does not have a band you should buy one.easy way to make fast songs with the wright music and perfect sound....

To put it simply, the unit is awesome! I write music and can clumsily play the keyboard. It's all about chords, patterns and putting them all together. If you're not proficient at playing, you can do a pretty decent job of programming so that your songs sound fully produced. I've never found software where you could program using preset patterns. This is great. Has input for a guitar or microphone. Excellent for the beginner musician and backing for people who really know what they're doing. I highly recommend this product!

My Korg T-1 was 15 years old.(Still works great) Was very good to me and will be a great beginner's work horse for someone someday. I should have upgraded years ago but couldn't find a good stand alone sequencer until 6 months ago. The QY100 seems to fit my operational needs and, at a reasonable price. To me, sequencer technology has come a long way in 15 years. However, the principals and procedures remain the same, so the learning curve wasn't so great. The internal sounds are good and the drums are even better. The unit is a little "glitchy", sounds like little drop-outs every now and then but not enough to annoy me yet. There's a lot going on in this little box if you're patient and can sit still long enough to learn where everything is and how to use it. I wish it had a larger view screen. (At 55, my eyes aren't what they used to be.) Memory is not a concern of mine (I have very little left) because I'm syncing all the parts to my Tascam 2488. I'm trying to figure out how to import my Roland =2020 voices to the qy100 sequencer.

I typically use the Guitar Pro software to jam with, but working in front of a computer is too counter productive. So I wanted to get this sequencer and an amp effects module in. This is the only product that can do both these things at a reasonable price.While I liked the sound and features of this module, I could not connect it to my Guitar amp. Also, as others have said, the memory is too little. So I decided to return it and bought Digitech GNX4 instead (GNX4 is not a full sequencer, and Qy100 doesn't have all possible amp models, so the comparison is not fair, still...). QY100 is way better than GNX4 as far as drum and other features are concerned, but until Yamaha upgrades this product I am happy with my GNX4.
