Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

I'm a rather flambouyant performer who has been tied to a cord for 35+ years. I finally took the plunge and invested in "Baby's First Wireless for Guitar". After last night, I'll never use a cord again!

My Nady arrived just a couple hours before a gig, so I gave it a very brief test with an amp at home. I did notice the cheap construction, but at this price I'm glad they focused more on circuit design than durability. After literally 2 minutes of testing, it was time to leave for the gig and adjust the PA, etc.

The Nady worked flawlessly on stage, and I was able to run so far away that the slow speed of sound became a problem - I was hearing the band a bit late which makes it almost impossible to play in time without rushing. It does change the sound and feel of my guitar slightly, but I haven't yet sat down and played with the output level control which will surely make a difference.

Yes the belt clip breaks off under strain (clips right back on) and the input jack is funky; I had to fix the cable so it was very slightly pulled out to make good contact. But its performance makes it well worth the trouble. I wasn't expecting this to be my lifelong setup, and it serves my purpose excellently until I'm ready to invest in a better system. It does help to have technical skills, as I'm a technician and think some tech skill is required to get the most from this unit. But if you can set up and adjust a PA and work out technical challenges at a gig, that's more than enough skill to make this unit work reliably. On the whole, a great value for the local performer on a tight budget. However, I wouldn't buy it if you don't know how to repair cables and maintain electronic stuff - I'm sure the system will need occasional maintenance.

You get what you pay for

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

Dont buy this crap...I was more attracted to the price rather than the quality of this item. Normally Im smarter about buying cheaper pieces of musicial equipment but I really thought this was too good to be true, since Ive wanted a wireless for while. Just by its construction when I took it out of the package should have sent up red flags. The plastic casing is cheap and youre almost afraid to open the battery compartment in fear of breaking it. It crackles as you walk around with it despite it having excellent range. I used it only 3 times before the input jack to the transmitter broke off. The warranty on this item is not very long so Im almost afraid to see if I can get a new or or even get it fixed. In a nutshell, save your money and buy the more expensive ones...itll be better for you in the long run.

Great....while it worked

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

I bought two of these systems for myself and our guitarist. They worked great for about two weeks, until i went to remove the cable from my guitar and it just fell apart. Part of the 1/4 cable got jammed in my bass and had to be fixed. A week later the same thing happened on the other one. I wouldnt waste my money on this again, unless your looking to use once or twice.

my first wireless experience :-(

By G. Wildin

from Texas

Comments about Nady DKW-1 VHF Wireless Guitar System:

So far, this one has been disappointing. I used it at one gig, and part way through the night, the 1/4 inch plug to the guitar fell apart. Literally. Prior to that it worked OK, but would crackle when I moved sometimes. The clip on the back of the body mounted transmitter kept falling off. The second night, the crackling was worse, getting worse the farther I moved away. We're talking 15-20 feet here. I replaced the battery and tried it in my home, and I still get an occassional crackling noise.
