Hi-Hat Harassment

Comments about Sound Percussion SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand:

It is obvious that this is not a high end hi-hat stand in terms of quality, its a SP after all. This was meant to be an off stage, in the studio kind of stand. The SP880HS Double-Braced Hi-Hat Stand has several problems I've noticed over time in playing. First off, I want to say that they're NOT serious problems. They wont cause any harm to your hi-hats, or effect the sound quality. There just the little things that tend to get on your nerves. For instance the bolts to adjust how the hi-hats sit are always coming loose, I've had several times when they've fallen off. The same problem is similar throughout the entire stand. Extension brackets to make the stand taller also come loose too from intense drumming. The pedal also wiggles a lot. Probably due to the thin metal braces that hold it in place. The stand is overall a good stand. Light to carry and cheap to buy. Its the perfect stand for a person who is looking to learn drums and needs an inexpensive set-up to get started. The price is about right for the quality you get. Cheaply made, but you can't beat the price on another hi-hat stand. Once you get good enough, and begin to perform, I would recommend trading up to higher quality equipment, I wouldn't trust this stand in a live performance.
