Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

Fantastic package; You get everything, including a cd rom, but unlike some "all in one" packs, THIS guitar is surprisingly HIGH quality. Looking close at the solid spruce top reveals awesome wood; the back and sides are also beautiful, but the binding is sublime. It's obvioulsly not a concert or performance type guitar, but made for travel and the tone reflects that, but still it sounds great and the quality is unbelievable for a portable guitar. Also like a lot of guitars, change the strings to phosphur bronze, but Washbure made a big little guitar that does what is says "plus".

    Compact Cool!!

    By Rico07

    from Undisclosed

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

The fast full size neck has tremendous playability. Surprisingly great tone in a small package. I played this alongside the Martin Backpacker and found this one better sounding and easier to play. I thought the Martin resembled a cigar box with rubber bands in comparison. I have had the Rover on a bus trip and it fits neatly into the overhead compartments. With it's backpacking feature, and light weight I had no trouble carrying it from place to place. The Rover is a complete package with a nice zippered semi-hard case and necessary case candy. If I had to say anything negative, the strap included with the guitar did have a weird chemical smell. It did not fit on the end pin without resizing the hole. This was easily fixed. Another minus is that without the strap the neck is much heavier than the body so it can feel awkward at first. Using the strap eliminates that issue. I am very happy with it over all. My only regret is not getting the "Cowboy Graphic" which is why I may add another Rover to my guitar collection. I have this guitar in black and it is very nice looking. Over all the Washburn Rover is a great little player for the money.

    Great Christmas present

    By wsr

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

My wife bought me the Rover for Christmas. I have been researching different travel size guitars to bring on the road with me, to give me something to do on long layovers. I am impressed with this guitar, and I will keep it. A couple of improvements could be made, though. The guitar case is bulletproof, but its zipper does not zip/close properly. Easy fix; I will incorporate some velcro straps to wrap around the case. The guitar does take some getting used to. I believe an extra knob to connect the strap to the front of the body/bottom of the neck will allow for a more natural neck position for playing. As supplied, you must tie the front of the strap to the top of the neck which doesn't work for me. Other than that, I will play this thing until it won't play anymore. PS........It's so light that I forget it's on my back when running through the airport.

    What to pack for Iraq

    By young grandma

    from Lamoni, IA

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

My son took his Rover to Iraq (both he and the Rover came back safe, thank God!) He said it saved his sanity -- he wrote some "good stuff" on it. The fellas would jam in the quiet times, and lots of the guys were grateful for the chance to play on it. Even the best musicians appreciated the tone, and it kept its tune well despite the heat and cold and sand.

    Nice travel guitar, but...

    By Rose-kn2VC

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

This is a nice guitar, surprisingly good sound, however the shape take a bit getting used to. Other than that, its a good size for traveling and practice when you don't want to drag out the full size guitars. And my 6 year old likes it because it's a good size for her.

    WOW

    By Jon Ross

    from Clinton, TN

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

This little thing sounds great, has good strngs out of the case, & fits in most over-head storage compartments. Addictive to play. Insane deal for the instrument you get. It's light, fun to play, & makes a great gift. I enjoy picking next to the bridge to get the radio effect on "Wish You Were Her" - Pink Floyd. Great guitar, tunes easy. Phenominal fun. Good sustain, great sound, and (as I said earlier) it's addictive to play. I find myself sitting in one place for 3 or so hours or more playing the thing. Buy it, you will not regret it.

    Great Value

    By Bob-SyGU7

    from Canada

Comments about Washburn Rover Travel Guitar:

Great little guitar for the price.Nothing fancy though. I do like the neck.It has nice action right outta the case. The case is very rigid and holds the Rover tightly in place.I'm not sure I'd ever want to plug this axe in as it has a rather "shallow" tone but hey it's a travel guitar which is why I bought it.Thanks Washburn, great product!!
