both my sons (ages 12 and 10) own one of these babies and they love practicing and learning on them. best of all, when we go on a trip to visit friends or family, they go in the car and fit nicely in commercial overhead bins. the sound is bigger than you'd think and they stay in tune. extra kind to small hands, but can also be enjoyed by big hands. in fact, their guitar teacher told me he traveled all through europe with his baby taylor, busking away when he needed some coin. my kids use them to busk at the local farmer's market and they do pretty good for a few hours. gets them out in the fresh air and has taught them alot about what to play to please an audience. the baby taylor may seem spendy for a starter guitar, but it's worth it in the long run.
Quality no frills guitar. Sounds great with better acoustics in the low range than I've experienced with other undersized guitars. Action is surprisingly fast.My soundboard was cracked after about a month. Not sure why, it was in a humidity controlled room and a solid case. Sent it into Taylor who replaced the soundboard and sent it back without any hassles.
