Gorgeous detailing and contrasting tonewood colors add even more appeal to this great sounding Taylor offering.
Refined sonic and aesthetic details abound on Taylor’s rosewood/spruce 900 Series. A thoughtful redesign incorporates a sleek hand-carved ebony armrest, along with the same bundle of tonal refinements first applied to the 800 Series. The 912ce's compact Grand Concert body is a lap-friendly delight, while the slightly shorter 24-7/8" scale length makes bending strings and fretting chords even easier. Tone-optimizing features include customized bracing and wood thicknesses for the Grand Concert shape, along with protein glues for the bracing and bridge and thin (3.5 mil) gloss finish. The result is a guitar that’s incredibly responsive to a light touch, with impressive midrange warmth and sustain. Between the balance, articulation and broad tonal range, fingerstyle players will love exploring the guitar’s sonic palette. Additional features include a Venetian cutaway and Taylor’s Expression System 2 pickup.
The smallest of Taylor’s full-size body shapes. Its compact dimensions make for a physically comfortable guitar with an intimate feel and sound. The smaller footprint keeps the overtones in check, contributing to a focused, articulate sound that’s well-suited for recording and stage work.
The most commonly used wood for guitar tops, Sitka generates a broad dynamic range and accommodates numerous playing styles, from aggressive strumming to fingerpicking.
Indian rosewood’s sweeping frequency range at both ends of the tonal spectrum has made it one of the most popular and musically rich tonewoods. Its deep lows can assert a throaty growl, while bright, sparkling treble notes ring out with bell-like, high-fidelity clarity.
Expression System 2
Taylor’s breakthrough acoustic pickup marks a major advance in piezo technology thanks to a patented behind-the-saddle design. The unique placement of three piezo sensors captures a more dynamic range of acoustic sound and responds well in a variety of settings.
