Grand Auditorium (GA)
Body Width: 16" / Body Depth: 4-5/8" / Body Length: 20"
Taylor's signature shape embodies the ultimate all purpose acoustic.
As a guitar soundboard, or top, Sitka spruce is the tonewood standard of the modern era. It's used on 85-90 percent of the guitars that Taylor makes. Its combination of strength and elasticity translates into a broad dynamic range, yielding crisp articulation and allowing for everything from aggressive strumming and flatpicking to fingerpicking. Sitka spruce is Bob Taylor's personal favorite for an all-around great guitar.
Like the the ES-T, The ES-N is a single-source, under-saddle transducer, but the preamp design and tone controls were customized to complement the nylon-string voice. Standard ES control knobs enable plenty of tone-shaping and preserve the natural design aesthetic.

Comments about Taylor 214ce-N Rosewood/Spruce Nylon String Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I would encourage anyone on a budget to consider the open-box option. Considerable discount for the same basic instrument. Most of my playing occurs in the living room and this Taylor 214ce-N fills my needs. It is comfortable to play with a full-bodied sound, not tinny or shallow like some acoustics which are meant to be amplified. It sounds as good to me playing it as it will to listeners hearing it through PA (maybe better 'cause I'm not nervous playing for me). Tough, durable finish and solid feel. Not top-end Taylor, but pretty sweet.
