Big, meaty chords, plenty of volume, and outstanding balance, in a stunning spalted maple appearance.
The Takamine G Jumbo EG523SC Acoustic-Electric Guitar is endowed with great internal air volume to deliver sound that matches its name. The top profile curves hint at the pleasing tonality delivered by the jumbo guitar design.
The Takamine EG523SC jumbo's tonal spectrum is enhanced by its dynamic range. From aggressive chord comping to gentle finger passages, the G jumbo responds well to the subtle, and not so subtle demands that might be made of it.
The guitar's spalted maple top back and sides offer balanced tone full projection and a killer appearance. The dovetail neck joint, and rosewood bridge and fretboard offer plenty of sustain. An asymmetrical neck and 1-5/8" nut width provide comfort for intricate fretboard movements.
At the heart of the Takamine G Jumbo is an impressive electronics system for amplifying your sound with intuitive frequency controls. The CP-100 pickup is an innovative pickup arrangement with a U-shaped aluminum rail securing the pickup and saddle for a snug fit and balanced response from the guitar—not just pressure on the strings.
The Takamine TK40 preamplifier is equipped with volume control, bass, middle and treble frequency slider controls, EQ bypass, a notch filter, tuner and a mid contour switch.
The G Jumbo's chrome hardware, chrome tuners, and natural gloss finish add a striking touch to the already beautiful Takamine EG523SC guitar.

Comments about Takamine G Jumbo EG523SC Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I purchased this guitar a few months back and have been impressed with the big sound it produces unplugged. It's my first electric/acoustic and I do not yet have an amp, so I can't speak for the amplified sound. I have however used it to record via audio interface and I like what I hear. This was my first purchase of a guitar at a substantial(for me) price point and I'm glad I pulled the trigger on this one. The spalted maple is absolutely beautiful, the electronics seem quality, and the onboard tuner is accurate. This guitar is a Jumbo, but it is not too much to handle (I'm 6'/190lbs). It fits very nice, the frets are smooth and low so no washboard effect when sliding up the neck as opposed to an Epiphone jumbo I once played. I would recommend this (or any other finish in this model) to anyone that is looking in this price range for an acoustic/electring with a bold sound and is certainly easy on the eyes. Can't for tax returns next year so I can get something to plug it into!
