Awesome Guitar --- Sweet Acoustics!

By Mikey-RKU8n

from Arlington, Texas

Comments about Takamine EF-261 SAN Acoustic Guitar:

Without a doubt, this is one awesome guitar. The tone is pure and plenty loud enough for me, whether plugged or un-plugged. This guitar is based on the smaller artist cutaway body style, and it is substantially smaller than your typical dreadnought, but for me, it just seems perfect. It stays in tune for days and the on-board tuner seems to work pretty well. One thing to note...the picture of this guitar on-line always seems to have a reddish hue to the cedar top, but the one I received had no hint of red at all, but rather a very natural, neutral color to the wood. It is listed as an antique finish, and mine doesn't look as red as the pictures shown on this site, or on Takamine's website either. Not sure why that is? It also appears to have been assembled in Japan, and not Korea, as some of the cheaper Takamine's are made. Overall...I love this guitar. It makes me sound way better than I actually am, which is a good thing!!!

Comments about Takamine EF-261 SAN Acoustic Guitar:

Fell in love with the looks and deep smooth sound of this pretty baby. I want to play all the time now and I feel I sound much better playing than I did. I love the b/I tuner. The Guitar stays tuned for weeks. Music123 has the best prices and the hard case is really nice. All I can say is I LOVE IT!! Thanks;)

Takamine Santa Fe A/E cutaway

By FG

from Central NJ

Comments about Takamine EF-261 SAN Acoustic Guitar:

I was shopping for an acoustic/electric with a cutaway body last summer and after narrowing the choices down to a nice Fender sunburst I went into a local music store and heard a guy in the shop playing a really nice sounding guitar. I looked around and then picked up the Santa Fe, which looked beautiful. As soon as I strummed it I realized that was the same guitar. It plays nicely and sounds great. The size is perfect. Not as big as my dread but it puts out as much sound. The built in tuner is pretty good, the preamp is great and it came with a nice case. It has sealed Gotoh tuners and holds a tune pretty well. Whenever I jam with my buddies, one of them will pick this up whenever I put it down. We trade instruments all the time. It's hard to get it back sometimes since everyone loves to play it. How's that for an endorsement? The jack is in the endpin. It comes with a strap pin in the neck already. Something I'm used to having to install myself. The only downside is no pickguard. I put a clear one on since it is a really nice looking finish and I would thrash right through the top without one. For the price they could put one on.

Sweet!!

Comments about Takamine EF-261 SAN Acoustic Guitar:

This is my second ef261B. The first was a used black one that I purchased on Ebay. Later I purchased a new ef261S from Music123. I simply love the guitar for the sound, size and appearance. The friend I sold the used ef261B to has always been in love his. For the novice, it is a great guitar at a fantastic price.
