Squiers new Vintage Modified Jazzmaster has the models most distinctive hallmarks, too - such as the dual-circuit switching and controls, floating-vibrato bridge and an assortment of finishes.

Guitar had typical Jazzmaster buzz with the bridge Fender has always used with this model. Immediately replaced with a Mustang style (inexpensive and quick fix) that took care of the problem. Neck needed some truss adjustment, but once the guitar was set up, it plays as easy as any higher end Jazzmaster. Neck is outstanding. Electronics are average, but you can't beat the price.

The Squier vintage series has produced some really cool guitars, so I was eager to check out their take on the Jazzmaster. No disappointments at all. Great job on the finish (the Sonic Blue looks great). The tinted laquer on the neck is cool too. The Duncan designed pickups sound good. Not too noisy when cranked with lots of drive. But they really sparkle when you put the switch in the center position and play clean. (Think "Under the Bridge") Only minor issues are a couple high spots on the frets and the typical Jazzmaster bridge issues. Including a gig bag would have been nice as Jazzmasters don't fit in many cases.
