Unbeatable Value

By Harrison-DQ6bv

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

This is a GREAT guitar, with a few things to note. The basics - the body and neck - are more like real early 70's American guitars than many new American made guitars. Nice fretwork, great overall feel & vibe. It is fine for beginners out of the box, but experienced players will want to do some mods. I seem to have gotten a "good one," but intonation is off and cheap tuners make it hard to keep in tune. The good news - a quick setup and tuner upgrade from my local luthier and I'm good to go, with less than $100 extra spent. May upgrade the pickups later, but the stock ones are very musical and airy, well balanced between neck & bridge, many usable sounds if you use the tone & volume wisely. Switch, pots & jack feel fine for now. TOTALLY unbeatabe at this price.

You Get What You Pay For!!!

By Jeffrey Osgood

from Woonsocket, R.I.

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

I had gotten this guitar for X-Mas back in 2007 as a gift from my wife. When I took it out of the box, I realized that some work needed to be done in order to make this a playable guitar. First, the action had to be lowered and then the truss rod had to be adjusted along with a intonation check. The nut on this is made out of a cheap plastic so I took that off and had a bone nut installed instead. Next, I installed a set of Graph-Tech Bridge saddles which helped with the intonation and also keeping the guitar in tune . I also took off the string tree which was on the D&G strings and filled the hole with some wood filler as this really served no purpose as far as I was concerned. Once I did these modifications and set the guitar up, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it stays in tune and the tone that the humbuckers put out. The clean tone that I get from these are really nice and bright and are capable of getting down and dirty if need be. My only gripe is the condition that the guitar arrived in when I took it out of the box. From what I've heard, these were manufactured in Indonesia at the Cort Factory for Squier and if that's true then they should've taken much more care to ensure that a quality product leaves it's plant bearing the Squier name. It looks like that these guitars were just quickly put together and just shoved into the box and shipped off to who knows where. Hopefully if these guitars are still being made by Squier, then maybe they can take more time to ensure that a quality product is put out and not something that appears to be rushed.

great guitar!

By Eric-VNmDc

from Atlanta

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

Fantastic guitar. Sweet sound, good build. If you were to gig a lot with it you would need to upgrade the knobs and input. But for an avg person playing out occasionally, it will do. Sounds fantastic. I bought it originally with the intent of gutting it and putting new p-ups, etc in, but at this point it sounds great to me and I'm leaving it as is. You won't go wrong with this guitar.

Good Buy!

By Billy-hS9Bg

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

When I received this instrument it looked incredible. It not only looked good though, it sounded great too. If you are looking for a Tele custom but cannot afford the Fender. This is a great buy for the money. The only thing that really needed to be changed was the strings. It stays in tune pretty well after you've played with it and stretched the strings out for a good 15 minutes. In conclusion GREAT BUY!

Leftie conversion

By Rogie the leftie

from Washington DC

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

I've had the Squire Telecaster about a month, and converted it myself to a left-handed configuration, which means altering the bridge, nut, string layout, and pickups. The conversion was easy, since these features are so flexible in the Fender design. The guitar is terrific, sounds great, plays easy and fast, great tone, great sustain. A shop could probably do even better. The guitar is unbalanced left-handed, which is fixed by moving the strap buttons. It plays very clean, or very dirty, equally well through a Marshall mini-amp. As others, I find the stock strings are best replaced as soon as the guitar is set up the way you want it. If you're bending notes, mind your tuning. All in all, a terrific, well-made guitar.

This thing rocks!!!

By Vanhaggar

from New Brunswick Canada

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

Very good fit and finish, the pictures do not do this guitar justice. The neck is awesome, very smooth and the paint on the body is flawless Wow!! Enough about that, the pickups sound incredible!! Having two tone and volume controls makes it very easy to find a tone that suits your style. This is an excellent guitar especially for the price, This guitar will always be in my possession. Excellent job Squire. This guitar can make a crappy amp sound great!

great buy!

By atone442

from indiana south bend

Comments about Squier Tele Custom Electric Guitar:

This guitar has a really nice neck and is very hum free! Nice fit and finish.I had it set -up and the tech said the length was a bit short but close. Wish it came in blonde! The only short coming was that the pots were a bit scratchy. For 200.00 its a very good buy! I'm happy! You can use only whole stars here so I'll tell you now, a very solid 4 3/4 star!
