I bought this guitar as an experiment, to see if it was as good as everyone says,....and it IS! I'm a Gibson guy, got a Les Paul Classic and she's my baby, but I needed some Tele twang, and for a mere $200. this Squier Tele blows me away, I just can't put her down. ( I normally won't touch anything under $500. )The finish is Candy Apple Red, and it's gorgeous, much prettier than I expected, and the chrome hardware just shines. Neck is very comfy and very smooth, medium-thin profile. The pickups are nice and quiet, with beautiful tone, not high output but still very good. Knobs and switches are good, minor scratchy sound in the pup switch-bridge position, nothing serious though. Tuners are OK, they hold tune through slight string bending,.......I would not play live with stock tuners though, and will be upgrading to Schaller locking tuners shortly. String action was decent right out of the box, I'll lower them slightly but they are at very playable height right out of the box. Overall rating I'll give is four stars, because of the cheap tuners, but really for the price you can't go wrong. I've not played another better axe in this price range, ( even a $300. Epiphone LP special... ). Bottom line - I highly recommend this guitar for anyone, beginner or pro, it is very solid and will last for many years. It is an unbelievable guitar for the price tag.

If your wallet is paper thin , and your really skilled at guitar rebuild/repair/setup then this guitar is a bargain. I found the pickups to be very low output and any attempt to boost the signal brings out hum and handling noise. The fingerboard is sharp edged and the frets are undressed and the fret ends are in dire need of filing and polishing.and cheap/brassy strings. That said, if your good at "fixing er up"(new p-u's,fretwork,pots,etc.) You can have a really good sounding Tele at a fraction of the price.

Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Bought this guitar to check it out. Wasnt expensive at all. When i received it i changed the tuners with locking tuners and swapped out the bridge pick up with a DragonFire Hot rail(Found the stock pick up weak). Also lowered action a bit,Now i am Gettin great swamp tones out of this thing .I play through a Fender Blues Deville 410 60 watt amp. This guitar just shimmers and oozez twang.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have had this guitar for about 4 years, and i love it, i love the fast neck and the superve sound and tone, i play all kinds of music, blues, jazz, rock, latin, and even metal, this baby can go anywhere, the only problem is the bridge pickup might need replacing but its a fender for sure just cheaper then fender, awesome i have the antique burst, love its unique colour and style. love it!

Good...Not Great
Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
When the guitar arrived it had a large finish crack by the neck and was in bad need of a set up. Overall, the thing felt cheap and clunky. On the plus side, I ordered mine in Candy Apple Red and it looks very nice. The neck pickup sounds just fine so I left it in. The bridge pickup sounded too thin for my taste, so I replaced it with a Bill Lawrence "Black Label". Although I worked on the set-up for about an hour, I wasn't able to rectify some serious fret buzz happening in the middle of the neck. It has a nice meaty neck, but the attention to detail is lacking. Could be a nice guitar...but the lack of quality control on my particular model makes me think you should be cautious about purchasing these guitars. Between the fret buzz and the finish crack I'm tempted to return it.

Great Axe for the buks
Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
SO I got this thinking it would be a backup for my main axe and MAN was I surprised! Got the candy apple red and it is a really stunning finish - looks perfect. This is a really heavy Tele - way heavier than I thought it would be. Solid feeling all the way. THe single coils are real Alnico Vs and they have the characteristic sweet tone. Neck pup is a bit weak but other than that it sings. The best tone is the middle switch pos. It way playable right out of the box - no changes to the action or truss rod - just tuned her up and off I went for 4 hours of playing. I did not detect any buzzing and the action out of the box was set to somewhere between high and low. THis works for me but other players may need to adjust the action - easy to do since there are 6 individual steel saddles. Intonation is good right out of the box but if not it would be really easy to fix with a couple of turns on the bridge screws at the end. Everything is easy access for adjustments. THis Tele is just a dream to own and play and at this price you can't beat it! Git'cha one!

good choice
Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Sound is fantastic, and the feel is great. The color does it all, nothing to hot, but it catches the eye. Go for it if you are a good player but not if you're playing like a pro. It's about 3 or 4 steps up from a beginner's guitar. Hope this helped you out.

Twangtacular!
Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
Lots of people come on Music123 and give their cheap guitars these amazing reviews, but have nothing to compare it to. I've been playing a Fender American Stratocaster for years, and I decided it was about time to get a Tele. To be honest, I thought a Squier was going to be a piece of junk...I couldn't have been more wrong. The best color out of all of these is the Antique Burst with tortoise shell pickguard. Take my word - the finish is absolutely beautiful. I actually prefer this Squier to many Fender Telecasters I've played. The action is super-low, the thing stays in tune, and the Tele twang is better than ever. The bridge pickup is so twangy that it sounds like a Chet Atkins lick! Don't be fooled by the price - this Telecaster is stunning and beautiful. Definitely more bang for your buck.

Great Guitar
Comments about Squier Standard Telecaster Electric Guitar:
I wanted a new guitar, and I didn't have much cash, so I bought this. I am quite pleased with this guitar. It sounds and plays very nice, with that great tele twang. The neck is great, I'm guessing because it's modeled on a 60's neck, which can't be a bad thing. I would recommend this guitar to anyone;beginner, or advanced.
