I purchased one of these a couple of years ago, and I own 12 guitars now. This is my GO TO guitar. I love the feel and the playability of this axe. A year before I had looked at these and they were really Cr@p - but someone must have taught the Chinese factory how to build them correctly. They got it really right. My friend bought a CV Squier and it is even better - perfect vintage sounds, and looks - even a Pine Body to replicate the oriignal Leo Fender wisdom for less expensive manufacturing. The idea failed for him, though, because people would dent them easily, so he changed to alder, ash, and poplar.

These Squiers are a great deal for an extra guitar, or a learner, and well worth the price.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

I've had mine for a little over a month now and I thought I would put in a review about this guitar which my fellow musicians have been raving about. Mine was made in January of this year according to the serial number on the back of the headstock, and it has the Squier logo emblazoned in Gold instead of Black like the older models did, which I think is much classier. The neck on mine, is a nice " C " shape that does not have any fret edges protruding from it and is very fast and enjoyable to play on . The stock tuners do a great job of keeping this baby in tune and the stock plastic nut hasn't given me any problems although down the line, I'll probably replace it with a bone one. Now as far as the stock electronics are concerned, the pickups on this guitar sound great and deliver that classic Telecaster twang in spades and are capable of handling any genre of music from Blues to metal IMO. Some people have complained about the stock 3 way pup switch but I haven't had any issues with it being in the way of my playing at all. Heck, even the stock tone knob works fine and doesn't need any mods of any kind. My only gripe, is the stock topload bridge with the 6 saddle design , which I personally find difficult to restring. I feel that this should've been either a string through bridge or a classic 3 Barrel saddle design, which would make restringing much easier. Other than that, this is one heck of a deal for the price and I am having a blast playing it. I'm 54 years old and have been playing for 40 years and in that time, this has to be one of the best deals I have ever come across and I highly recommend this guitar to either a beginner or to anyone on a budget who wants a Telecaster.

Telerrific Value

By Edward Gambler

from Undisclosed

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

I played every Telecaster model made by both Fender and Squier, and believe it or not I settled on this one. Why? Because it sounds more like a traditional Telecaster than any other model out there. If you are looking for a modern sound so you can play like one of the metal Tele guys, I'm not sure this is your guitar. However, if you want a real, honest Telecaster with all the twang, spank, and sparkle that has entailed for more than 60 years, this is your axe. Ignore all the guys on here telling you this is a great platform to modify with new pickups, bridge, tuners, etc. Buy it, open the box, and start playing all the country, blues, and classic rock sounds that Teles have been creating since these styles began

BSB Squier Telecaster - BEST DEAL

Great Starter guitar with even greater potential

By Matthew Topel

from Undisclosed

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

Overall this is probably the best value guitar that I have seen. At this price, you might think that the affinity series telecaster is little more than wall art. Although the guitar certainly is good to look at, this couldn't be further from the truth. The telecaster has a quality "C" shaped neck that is easy to move around on and allows some good leverage for accurate string bending. All of the parts are also easily adjustable and can quickly be set up to fit any playing style or preference.
The electronics and pickups are adequate. The single coils offer some great vintage twang. The front "lipstick" pickup has a rather unique sound as is interesting to play around with or blend with the more versitile bridge pickup. While both are at least as good as other guitars in this price range better players will probably want to upgrade. With some high quality pickups and upgraded tuning pegs this Squire tele will get you your own unique sound, and should be able to go head to head with any Stock Fender model, for only a fraction of the price
My only real complaint about this guitar is that the bulky pickup selector switch often gets in the way while playing rythm parts. I will occasionally hit the switch and accidently switch from the the front or middle position to the bridge. Those of you handy with a soldering iron should be able to turn the selector plate around to aleviate this problem.
This truly is a fantasitc guitar for the price. The telecaster is such an important historical instrument for Rock and roll, and this buttterscotch blonde model really drives home that classic feel while still offering an extremely diverse range of sounds in an easy to play package.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar for a living for 44 years. I've owned dozens of guitars. this one is fine. Lowere the strings a little. Plays, looks, and sounds great. I used it on a gig the night after I got it. Didn't touch my regular guitar all night. Used it on a recording. Sounds great. Very twangy. Neck and fretboard feel great. Highly reccomend. For the money it's a steal

Very Cool, small $

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

I was a bit skeptical about this guitar and held-off purchasing for a while. When I finally gave in and picked it up I was amazed. Beautiful guitar with rich tone. Flawless out of the box other than a string change. The guitar is lighter than expected. Check this thing out you wont be disappointed. For this price I may pick-up another.

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

This guitar is beautiful. It even feels as good as it looks. However, electronics side is a little "squire-ish". Great value though, and a great guitar for those who are new to guitar or just need a guitar to write on.

squire telecaster (affinity series)

By Baker Bill

from bridgewater,nj

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Telecaster Special Electric Guitar:

I don't think you can compare with this tele as far as price, playablity and sound.I got mine last week and I still can't get over how nice this guitar is for the money.I have two other squires besides this one and I like them all.the other two are strats. If you like the twangy sound of a tele you won't be dissapointed with this instrument or find a more impressive guitar for the money.A guitar dosen't have to cost a fortune to sound good and squire has proven that to me.
