Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

this guitar is great just like most other fenders. It has clean pickups and a nice sound. the neck could be a little smoother, but don't let that stop you from buy'n this guitar!

great guitar

By Brad Briggs

from pittsburgh

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

This is my first guitar and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played. It can play all types of music with the TW Single Coil pickups and the humbucker for more heavy stuff. I've had this guitar for more than two years and the only thing I've had to fix so far is changing the strings every couple months. One thing I have noticed is that a major change in weather can sometimes make it hard to keep the guitar in tune, but that's very minor. Overall I think it's a great guitar for any level guitar player.

alright for the price

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I've been playing guitar 4 years now. I bought this guitar from a local vendor for $210. Back then I didn't know the difference. Anyway, I had my cousin adjust stuff, because it had a major intonation problem, but with a bit of tweaking, it was fine. I put a2 more bridge-spring in the back, because the tremolo put it out of tune every time I used it (it still does a bit) and added locking tuners. I lowered the bridge a bit to my liking, and after all those minor adjustments, it played fantastic. The pickups go a bit fuzzy on a clean channel, and the humbucker is a bit twangy, but for $150, you can't expect much more. I would recommend this guitar for beginners on a budget.. get someone to adjust stuff though.

I'll give it a A-

By Joe Jammer

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

The Fat Strat is solid and well-made. It came in clean and set up fairly nice. The metallic red is not as metallic as I expected. You will get more than you money's worth, and the sound options are better than the other Affinity level Strats. The finish is like glass...slips off your lap if you're sitting down. If you want loads of humbucking fun and the assurance of Fender quality/craftsmanship, look no further. No regrets here.

that's a good choice

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I got this one some months ago and it was worth it. It's very easy to play and it has light string tension. The sound is ok. Very good balanced. I used to have Ibanez GSA60 and have tried many other guitars but for this price it's very difficult to get a better one.

A great guitar

By Bill-fyiRo

from Arlington, VA

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar and a MIM stad Strat at the same time. I thought I'd try them both and return the one I didn't like. It turns out that I'm keeping them both. The Affinity Fat has a lot of versatility in sound with the humbucker and is a bit lighter. Came out of the box ready to play with only a minor tweak to tuning. Fingerboard felt like an old friend in my hand. Love the MIM std as well. A more "traditional" strat sound if you will, weight and feel. This is probably the greatest peril of internet buying, it's really hard to convince yourself to return something!

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar about 5 months ago and it works really well. I never played guitar before and I can play pretty well now. I wanted to get the Fender one but the Squier was cheaper

Great starter guitar

By John-SH3gh

from SHAPE

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

I got this for my son. The action is good and the axe feels solid. For the price I was pretty impressed. I don't think you'll find a better guitar in it's price range. You can get better guitars, but the next best one will cost you another $60-70. Get a digital tuner if you like to really yank the tremolo.

Would be great for twice the price!!!

By Chris McCord

from Southeastern PA, USA

Comments about Squier Affinity Series Fat Strat Electric Guitar:

Laid out a mere pittance for this guitar and have been very satisfied with it. The fit and finish are top-notch with a smooth, comfortably shaped neck with excellent fretwork. The body is somewhat lighter and thinner than the Squier Standard and Fender Strats, and the finish is excellent as well. I have not had to set up this guitar since it was purchased, as it played great right "off the rack." I only have one major criticism, actually more of a comment. The stock pickups have very musical tones, but they are somewhat noisy and lacking in output, especially the two single coils. I would suggest replacing the stock pickups with less noisy, beefier models. Other than that, it's wonderful, and for the price, can NOT be beat!
