I purchased the pink Rogue guitar as a Christmas gift for my 6 year old niece. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this little guitar for it's price. The pink color is a little darker than in the picture. There is a beautiful gold pattern on the white pick guard. There also seems to be a bone type inlay around the outer edge of the guitar that cant really be seen in the picture. This is a 3/4 size guitar, and it DOES NOT come with a case. I purchased the 3/4 size Musicians Gear soft gig bag to go along with, and the guitar fits nice and snug. I haven't played the guitar much, yet, but it seems to tune nicely. Overall I feel that this is a great starter guitar for a young child, or a small guitar for an adult to play around with. I would purchase this again in a heartbeat!!!

I bought the Rogue Starter guitar because I was going out of town and didn't want to be without a guitar. I had the guitar shipped to my destination and it arrived right on time. I got the natural finish because that was the only one in stock.
The guitar was perfect for my purposes. It is playable, it sounds OK, and it was cheaper than renting one for the week. This is a good guitar to take on camping trips, to the beach, to throw in the back of your car and so on. But, despite the name "Starter," I do not think this a good guitar for children.
Out of the box my guitar had sharp fret ends. I filed them down with a nail file. The action is pretty high. The saddle could be sanded down to change this. The guitar did not stay in tune well. Probably filing the nut slots and changing the strings would fix this but I didn't bother with it. My point is that if you don't know how to do these things yourself, you'd have to pay someone more than the cost of the guitar to do it. So why not get a better guitar to begin with? Your child is worth it!
Those things aside, the guitar has a thick neck and completely flat fretboard, not the best features for a kid with small hands. Believe me, this is not the guitar that will make your child fall in love with playing. Ask a guitar teacher for guidance and get your kid something more suitable.
The Rogue Starter is great for travel and for bringing to places where you don't want to bring your regular guitar.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
This is the best guitar for the money; actually, it's better than guitars that cost two or three times as much. It's beautiful, well made, very durable, and the sound improves with age. I can't rave enough about what a great value this is -- and don't be put off by the "great guitar for beginners" -- If you are a beginner, this is the guitar for you: so easy to play -- and once you get some experience, because of the quality, you won't need another acoustic guitar for the rest of your life.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
My son got this guitar as a gift from SANTA. He is in love with it. He is in a guitar club after school. He practices at home with it. I do not know enough about guitars to tell about some of the issues that others have said about this guitar, but I do know that my son enjoys tuning it before he begins to practice. And for the price of a kids guitar which I did not want for him, this ROGUE guitar was worth every penny!!

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
Received the first one that I ordered for my sons Christmas present, it was busted on the back bottom of the guitar. Contacted them, a new one was sent, but I had to pay for the second guitar to get it expedited. Now three weeks later, still no refund on my original purchase.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
Bought for my 8 year old Grand Daughter. She loves it and fits her well. This is her first guitar so she is learning to play. The one problem that I encountered was the lack of an attachment lug on neck side of the body for the strap.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
I ordered four of these guitars and with just a little touch-up they all played perfectly. I filed the fret ends and lowered the saddle. The saddle notches needed just a touch up. The kids and their parents are all happy. I gave them to my granddaughters for Christmas.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
What a wonderful surprize this little guitar was! I was a little worried after reading some of the comments but I figured for the price, why not? The guitar is beautiful, the sound is full and bright, even with the strings it shipped with. The action on the neck is good, it stays in tune up the neck- only very sliglty sharp by the time it gets to the 12th fret, but I don't usually play that far up the neck, anyway. Sooooo much better than the "beginner" guitar my parents bought me as a teenager! A great beginner guitar or one you can leave out and play without worrying about ruining an expensive guitar.

Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
Considering this is my first guitar, I don't really know how to determine what's good or bad about the sound, construction or tuning. I've only had it a couple of weeks and it suits me just fine.
It sounds good to me, but again, I'm not an expert. I wanted to learn an instrument just for the fun of it.

Sounds great!
Comments about Rogue Starter Acoustic Guitar:
First, the sound. This guitar sounds great, and compares favorably to the tone of a coworkers Baby Taylor. Overall, the fit & finish are nice with a couple of exceptions. Sharp fret ends! Too bad the factory couldn't take a few minutes to file these down. Also, one of the truss rod cover screws is stripped, and fell out on the carpet. I can take care of both of these so no big deal. Would be more of a problem for some other people. The neck is straight and true, always a good sign. The action is a little high, but not drastically so. I'll either lower it a little or leave it as it is since it tunes down to D-D quite nicely with no fret buzzes. Overall, well worth the price, and I'm glad I bought it. At this price, no worries when it gets dings, and I can leave it out where I can get to it rather than hiding it away in a bag or case. Leaving a guitar out is a sure way to get you to play more! Packaging and shipping speed were top notch...
