As a guitar for beginners, I can really feel the difference in how easy this is to play on, compared to a more 'experienced' guitar. The sound is OK as well.

However - the guitar feels kind of cheap. It seems like the painting line around the guitar case have been done by a child. Some places the painting have "missed" by a bit, and the pattern is not consistent.
Also, on the frets (the metallic lines), there are somehow pink painting. I have also found traces of wool/cotton under the frets and other places, which I can pull off. Where the guitar neck connects to the case, there is also something plastic (which seems like the glue) that I can pull off.

Conclusion: for a beginner like me, it is perfect. Just play and play and play 'till it's broken.

Comments about Rogue Acoustic Guitar and Mandolin Pack:

I was looking for a simple starter guitar for my son, when I saw this one came with a mandolin, I had to get it. I always loved the sound of the mandolin. After a few years I bought my son a more expensive guitar which was supposed to be of higher quality, my son prefers his Rogue. The mandolin sounds wonderful as well. I played it in a concert in church and it resonated above the other instruments. Keep in mind you'll have to get an acoustic pick up if you want to plug in, as they don't have electric hook ups, but this combo is the best bang for your buck.

Comments about Rogue Acoustic Guitar and Mandolin Pack:

For an instrument that my daughter will be dragging back and forth to school in place of her classic Harmony or my fathers Handmade Austrian, the guitar is acceptable, the tone is better than my Emperador that I've had for years, but not up to the standards of my Fender, but for the price, it's quite acceptable.

The mandolin, for its price, is an acceptable starter instrument for those unsure if they want to play, or if their hands will let them. I've been plunking on it for 2 days now, and have decided to look into a better one for myself, or at the very least, a second mandolin for everyone else in the house, since my roommate is also playing on it, and my kids are too. the biggest complaint I have is that it needs tuning very frequently, which may be the strings, and the bridge needed adjusting of location to stay tonally correct from open to the 12th fret. Shipping was fast, and it showed up when expected. Hats off to Music 123 for creating a few more mandolin players.

Comments about Rogue Acoustic Guitar and Mandolin Pack:

Over the years I have owned high dollar and high quality quitars. Read the reviews and thought why not. You can not go wrong with this package. I don't know how they can make something so good and so inexpensive. Finish was great, sound was awesome. I couldn't tell that much difference from a $1500 guitar and this one. Maybe if you were recording or playing on stage. But for just plan old fun playing you can't go wrong. My daughter had bought me a little more expensive mandolin and the one that came in the pack was every bit as good. Maybe even a little brighter. Ordered it on Sunday afternoon and had it by Tuesday afternoon, this was the free shipping. Wow they are fast. I have over the years bought a lot of instruments from Music 1 2 3 and have always received good service. The guitar and mandolin came in seperate boxes and were extremely well packaged. Hats off to who ever boxed them up because they really protected the instruments. No matter what your reason or level of playing if you want a fun pair of instruments you can't go wrong with these.

I bought these as a duel gift for my son & I for Christmas. I had always wanted a mandolin and my son was just learning to play on my Guitar. These were packaged well, the shipping was free and quick. I was amazed at the quality for such inexpensive instruments. I go to flea markets & swap meets, I have never seen such well made at better prices.

I ordered this on a Friday and received the package on the following Wednesday! Super fast shipping. The product was well packaged for shipping. There are some that would complain that is a waste, but it protected the guitar and mandolin very well. I used to work for UPS and I know that not all of the packages are treated with the greatest respect. I opened them both up right away and tuned them and they are fantastic. For the money you can't get a better deal! Thanks Music123!

Fast shipping, Love the guitar. The mandolin arrived with a broken string (junk). I guess they just advertised good strings on the guitar. would give a higher rating if the mandolin was not included.

Comments about Rogue Acoustic Guitar and Mandolin Pack:

This is my second rogue guitar/mandolin kit. I bought my first in Nov., 2010 and am very happy with both instruments. Excellent finish and fit, smooth and easy action, decent sound. Yes, my Martin D-28 does have a better sound, but this is a close second, and I wanted something I could carry to parties, camping, to loan out, etc that was inexpensive. Both have held up well over time. Despite the absurdly low price, these are good instruments, not toys or wall decorations. Buy 'em, and you'll be happy too.
