A slim-body cutaway acoustic electric featuring 12-fret, short-scale NS neck.
The Shorty-FT Acoustic-Electric Guitar is RainSong's smallest and most refined body shape with a unidirectional soundboard, hybrid body construction and a short scale 12-fret neck. It's the perfect combination for an intimate instrument with a warm tone and surprising punch.
Shorty's neck joins the body at the 12th fret rather than the 14th fret. This moves the bridge back on the soundboard towards the center of the lower bout resulting in improved sonic energy transmission from the strings to the soundboard and enhanced bass response.
Humidity and temperature resistant construction
Unidirectional carbon mimics the tight grain of a fine Spruce soundboard. First introduced on the Concert Series, this soundboard is RainSong's lightest. The Hybrid body technology blends the crystalline highs of carbon with the mellow tones of glass. The synergy between the unidirectional soundboard and the hybrid body is obvious from Shorty's first strum.
The SFT features the Fine Texture, UV protective, polyurethane finish that gives the instrument a subtle yet tough look. Includes case.

Comments about Rainsong Shorty-FT Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Sounds really nice, particularly at the high end. Excellent sustain. Low end a bit weak but not bad. Setup and fit/finish both pretty near perfect; I might lower the action a tiny bit w the next string change. Stays in tune. Intonation good. Haven't given it the samsonite test, but feels like it could take a severe beating. Lightweight. Honestly if you told me I had to use this as my only writing/practice/gigging guitar I would not cry. Given it's durability, I feel a gig bag would be a smarter (and cheaper) alternative to the very nice hard case it came in.
