Mid-depth body with a solid top, updated bracing and stage-ready electronics.
The Celebrity Elite series is your first step into the world of Ovation’s classic multi-soundhole instrument design, with first-rate sound, style, features and value.
The Celebrity Elite CE44-1 guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a solid spruce top featuring the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs and focused, balanced bass response. For the top’s quartersawn scalloped “X” bracing, Ovation viewed earlier bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present, with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body, top and soundholes create the classic Ovation Elitesound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.
The top also has elegant multi-wood epaulets, black binding and a beautiful two-color sunburst gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck, 10”-radius rosewood fretboard with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string) and pearloid inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CE44-1 features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

Comments about Ovation Celebrity Elite Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
I originally owned and Ovation and 'upgraded' to a Takamine. I liked the Takamine but missed how easy the Ovation was to play. When I saw that Ovation was making this new line, I decided to sell my Takamine and go back to Ovation and I am so glad I did. First off, it looks amazing and this style stands out in a crowd of other acoustic guitars. It is sexy and stunning and will get lots of comment. Second, and more importantly is the sound. Ovation has it's critics with it's unique sound and it is love it or hate it sort of relationship. This time around, I think they will silence the 'hate it' critics. I was shocked how loud and crisp it sounds while unplugged. Easily as loud as your standard center hole acoustics, and maybe even louder. Plugged in, it is a dream. The pickups and preamp are sound brilliant. I clipped my Snark onto the Ovation to test the onboard tuner and the onboard tuner is impressively accurate. Lastly, and the best part about Ovations in my opinion is the playability. The neck is so thin you feel like you are playing an electric guitar. This model is no different and I have never played a smoother neck. I can't tell you how happy I am with this guitar. I have been playing it every day for a week now and have zero complaints. I did change the strings to a medium light. Other than that, the guitar's setup right out of the box was perfect.
