    Banjo Beater

    By Ruth Bloomquist

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I have had this guitar for a couple of years now. It's great in bluegrass jams. It refuses to get buried by the banjo. The D-35 really holds it's own. Not only is it loud, the tone is warm and sensual. A voice can ride on top of that tone like a sailboat on a perfect sea. Whether you play out or just in your living room, this guitar will be a joy to play.

    Good

    By MIke Sullivan

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar has an amazing tone quality, I have been playing professionally for 20 years. It's the best of the rest. True american product. There 3 american products, Harleys, Corvettes, and Martins. Theyre all worth more with age, and this guitar wont get any worse with age. I picked up this guitar and didnt have any adapting to do to it. It was incredibly easy to play and sounds wonderful. I have recently tried a D-28 and the D-35 sounds much better. Its a little pricey but not too much for a guitar as great as this one. I fully recommend this guitar and you shouldnt pass it up.

Martin D35 is an awesome guitar

    By Brian Donehoo

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

My dad bought this guitar new in 197 the year I was born. He played this guitar for years while I was coming up. He got where he couldn't play any more; and he passed it down to me. This guitar is not only the same age that I am; but it's my most prized possession. It's beautiful to look at; and beautiful to listen to. Martin Guitars are awesome!

    Still sends chills

    By Ken-gtop4

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Well, I bought one of those Martin's back in 1976 when they were made poorly. It's pre-truss rod and the action is pretty high. But, the tone still hi-jacks my breath. It's been around the world via my USMC helo pilot experiences. Loretta Lynn's guitar player had to borrow it once for a USO deal she did for the ships in our MARG. The band's instruments were lost. I had the only only guitar on the USS Guam. It still has his yippee-tie-yigh-ay belt buckle scratches on the back. I can't walk by and not pick it up and play it. I've played all kinds of acoustics and my D-35 beats them all.

    17 years of satisfaction

    By J. Marine

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

The D35 bought in 1988 gets better and better. It's ease of noting makes it a pleasure to play, especially since it has the thin neck introduced in that year. Hundreds of guitar makes have copied it and perhaps gone beyond it in some technological advances but C.F. Martin is still the standard.

    Awesome

    By Fast Eddie

    from Los Angeles

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I had thought I wanted a D28 and diligently saved my cash, while playing away on my Ovation and Guild guitars. While checking out the D28, I was taken by a D35. I alternately played both and was awed by the superior sound of the D35. My dream was realized.

    This is the Real Deal

    By Kinjiro25

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Im a Hawaiian Slack Key Guitarist and noticed the difference right off the start. I was comparing Martin vs. Taylor and Martin was the one!! Tone quality over passed the Taylor and the way they make the Martin D-35 you know only Martin Guitar Co. is the real stuff. I've actually spent 5 hours in the guitar shop looking for the right guitar and believe me....Martin D-35 is the one!

Can't get enough of that sound

    By Cat Wilcox

    from Richmond, VA

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I started off playing guitar when I was thirteen with a used Kay model my parents bought for me at a local thrift shop back in 1967. I can't believe all the guitars I had worked through to get to this point of owning a D-35 Martin. There is absolutely no denying that I feel a "utopian effect" every time I pick up my Martin. It's got the sweetest, deepest sound on the face of the earth. I bought my first Martin, an HD35P, back in'87 and played the heck out of it for eleven years until '99, when I had to sell it for health reasons. I grieved for days and months over the loss of my beloved companion. When I was able to do so, I purchased another HD35 in 2000. It had the same incredible deep sound, but something about it just did not feel or remind me of my beloved '87. In 2002 I acquired a D35 and the first time I saw and played it I fell in love with it. It's looks are not only similar to the '87 with its black pickguard(less the herringbone trim), but it felt and played as if I was holding my old friend again. It really blows me away that the new D-35 has as rich of a sound and tone, as the aging '87 did right before I let it go. How amazing is that, talk about quality!

    I still can't believe that I have a D-35

    By Kevin Hunter

    from Ramstein Air Base, Germany

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I remember a couple of years ago I was playing in a Bluegrass band back in the states. It was then that I was first introduced to the Martin guitar. I had spent my time playing a lower-end guitar which at times would become very frustrating. The first time that I picked up a Martin I knew that I had to have one. It wasn't just the amazing tone but I could see how much further I could take my guitar playing abilities. Simply because the Martin was so much easier to play. I purchased my D-35 a week before I moved to Europe. So I only had a couple days to play it before having it shipped to my new location. When the delivery truck arrived at my new place, I immediately started throwing things out of the way to get to my D-35. It was in perfect condition and still in tune. I still walk in from work and see it sitting on the stand and I laugh in disbelief. It's really mine. I have taken my guitar playing skills to a new level because it is no longer a chore just to play. I know why alot of people give up on playing the guitar. It's either the person teaching them or it's the equipment. I make this point clear to the people that I teach. Quality breeds creativity. Whether it be your instructor or your equipment. Simply stated, you don't always get what you paid for but in this case you will never regret having chosen the Martin D-35.
