Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA2 Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Just purchased the new GPCPA2. This guitar is well worth the money. The picture doesn't do it justice. The wood is beautiful and provides that Martin sound we all know. However, the specs say solid ebony on the fret board and bridge. Its really richlite. But I'll tell you it plays faster than wood and still looks like ebony. I own three other Martins. I have the MMV, the 00016CGTRE, and a GEDSM. The 00016 has Micarta frete board and brige, so I'am used to it. The new F1 Aura sounds great too. It will take sometime to figure it out, but the book provided explains it well. I plan on having this guitar until I die, and yes I would replace it if lost or stolen (etc)
It records well on my Tascam DR-07 hand held recorder. The action is a little high further up you go on the fret board, but that should be an easy fix. Other than that the case came with it and fits the guitar well. I do not expect any problems, I have never had to call Martin on any of my other Martin guitars. And don't expect to on this one. Take a look at it and play it. You will probably take it home.
