Incorporates Martin's visually striking 3-piece rosewood back design and adds Fishman's Matrix VT Enhanced electronics.

Known for its strong bass response, the Standard D-35 Dreadnought features a three-piece back in a bound fingerboard. A massive, solid Sitka spruce top produces a strong bass tone, ideal for rhythm playing. To accentuate the treble, Martin uses lighter 1/4" top braces. Binding on the East Indian rosewood back and sides and a bound ebony fretboard add to this its distinctive appeal. This Custom D-35E adds the power and incredible performance of Fishman VT Enhance electronics. Limited lifetime warranty.

Includes deluxe Martin hardshell case.

Matrix VT Enhanced
Fishman’s new Enhance Transducer is a bridge plate transducer that is mechanically and electrically optimized to bring out the dynamic and percussive elements of guitar playing. The Enhance Transducer is specially designed to capture the longitudinal energy (dynamic and percussive attack) of the guitar top while being highly resistant to the transverse energy that manifests in string squeak, body handling noise, and parasitic feedback. The Enhance Transducer adds these characteristics to the full spectrum audio performance of the Matrix VT Enhance to deliver a new level of sound quality and dynamic playing response.

The Matrix VT Enhance is unobtrusive, with no controls or holes cut into the side of the guitar. The easy-to-use Volume, Tone and Enhance Blend controls are mounted inside the sound hole for convenient access during performance. The resulting sound quality meets the Martin standard of excellence with an unmatched sound and responsiveness to touch and playing.

Martin Dreadnought
The very first dreadnought guitars were designed and crafted by C. F. Martin & Co. in 1916, but marketed in Boston and New York exclusively under the Oliver Ditson brand. Originally made for Hawaiian slide playing style, the very first dreadnought made was a Model 222 shipped to Ditson in August of 1916. After Ditson went out of business in the early 1930s, Martin introduced the D-1 and D-2 dreadnoughts for standard playing style that would soon become Martin’s iconic D-18 and D-28 models. Over the past 100 years, the Martin dreadnought has helped define what an acoustic guitar can and should be, and subsequently, it has become one of the most popular acoustic guitar designs in the world.
