Guitar hero

By Frank-2YpMx

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

I bought my D-16RGT five years ago and still today I find myself smiling everytime i pick it up. I keep it in the case when I don`t use it and whenever I open the case I first have to take in the scent of the guitar. The rosewood smells wonderfull! I`ve been playing for 16 years now and I have never come across a guitar that is better sounding or easier to play. I feel like a guitar hero when I play it because it`s so easy to play and sounds so rich. The Martin was perfect out of the box, no lowering was needed. I tried different brands of string but this one sounds so much better with Martin strings. I currently own a Takamine 12 string, a Cordoba classical guitar and an Ibanez electric, but the Martin is my favourite by far. I haven`t played any of the more expensive Martins (and I couldn`t afford them anyway) but this one will do for me. If you`re thinkin of buying a guitar in this pricerange this one will make you satisfied no matter what style of music you prefer.

Believe it!

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

I know it's probably difficult to read all the stellar reviews, but trust me--they're true. I personally think this one holds its own with the D and HD-28's too! Those guitars are only more expensive because of the cosmetic details, not the sound. My D-16RGT had that classic Martin bass, very clear trebles and everything in between. This guitar is fantastic, especially for bluegrass players.

Excellent guitar

By Dave-Mxzci

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

This guitar is wonderful. You don't need a heavy touch to get good tone if your fingerpicking. Flatpicking and strumming it is quite loud, though not as loud as an HD-28 (also scalloped braced). The sound seems 'shifted' more to the bass but treble notes still sound and ring clear. Intonation is excellent. There could be a little more sustain but it is still good. Basically, this guitar has all the tone, discoloration, and complex character of the more expensive Martins, but on a somewhat smaller scale. It's all the sound I need.

Great bang for your buck.

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

I went in search of a new guitar with certain criteria: Solid woods, rosewood back and sides, and $1,000. I tried a handful of Martin, Taylor, and Seagull guitars, and the D-16RGT had the best sound out of all of them. While the clerk was finalizing my sale, I picked up a D-28 to see what I was "missing". I was missing nothing. Either I got a great D-16RGT, or the D-28 was a dud, but the sound form the 16 series is great.

The best!

By Tim-vFm6V

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

I bought this guitar after many days of searching for a decent guitar for under $1000. I had gone to a local shop and played the D-16Gt Mahogany series and loved the way it sounded over all of the Taylors and other Martins priced under a grand. So, I took a gamble and bought the rosewood version from Music 123 with great optimism. What I got was better than I could have imagined. this guitar is amazing! I can't recommend this guitar enough. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER GUITAR FOR THIS PRICE! I promise. The tone is amazing and I am more than happy with my purchase.

Martin D-16RGT

By Jeff Mayer

from Orlando, Fl. USA

Comments about Martin D-16RGT Dreadnought Guitar:

After searching around for a solid rosewood guitar, I picked this D-16RGT against a Larrivee D-03R and a Tacoma DR-12 or DR-20. This guitar had the gloss top that I wanted and the nice vintage looking pickguard that compliments the herringbone soundhole rosette. The tone on this guitar is awesome!! It has that signature Martin deep rosewood bark/tone and is a terrific Bluegrass flatpicker for lead work and rhythm playing, which is what I primarily do. The sustain lasts long and the resonance is so full sounding. I had the action lowered by my local luthier and a pickup installed. This guitar sounds as good or better than many D-28 's I've played over the years and is probably closer sounding to a D-35 w/scalloped bracing like this one also has. I highly recommend this guitar for anyone looking for a solid rosewood Martin for under $1000! It will fit the bill nicely and then some! It has certainly met and exceeded my expectations I placed upon it!
