Martin

A perfect blend of vintage features and modern technology.

The Martin D15M acoustic guitar looks like it came right out of the history books, and delivers a sound for the ages. In its 175-year history, Martin has set more guitar design trends than can be counted. The company still embraces design techniques introduced many years ago to create their guitars' timeless tone.

Built on a dreadnought platform, the Martin D15M guitar boasts 14 open frets for a unique design and great range of tone. The top, back, and sides are genuine solid mahogany, offering strong guitar tone, with crisp, clear subtleties in each note's definition. One of mahogany's finest qualities is its density. Although it's not the hardest tonewood, it is free of air pockets and other deformities.

The vintage sound produced by the Martin D15M acoustic guitar is reminiscent of the Style 15 Martin guitars made popular during the 1940s. The Martin guitar is equipped with a mortise and tennon neck joint, offering the best wood binding practice ever conceived. Often used for shipbuilding, the process fuses 2 pieces of wood into a single, sturdy unit that stands up to the elements time and time again. The results are evident with the strength in tone and power in projection that you hear with each strum of this Martin acoustic guitar.

The Martin guitar's solid mahogany neck further complements the crisp, defined acoustic sound of this dreadnought. The bridge and fingerboard are solid East Indian rosewood, adding smooth sustain to the mix. The 14 open frets, 1-11/16" nut width, 2-1/8" bridge string spacing, and 16" radius add comfort for your intricate fingerboard movements.

Other appointments include a single-ring rosette, bone nut, solid/square taper headstock, solid East Indian rosewood headplate, diamonds and square fingerboard inlay, belly-style bridge, nickel open-geared tuning machines with butterbean knobs, and a solid black ebony bridge and end pins. Dressed in a soft satin finish and featuring a Delmar tortoise color pickguard, the Martin D15M guitar glows with classic vintage looks and sound. Includes a Martin 345 hardshell guitar case.

Comments about Martin 15 Series D15M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I've owned the D15 for 6 months now. This guitar from the factory is already a balanced and blueprinted hot rod of acoustic guitar. I own also the D 1 Custom, a Mexican sepele all wood, and owned Ovations over 30 year period. I'm now dedicated Martin consumer. The D15 is the finest, I believe of any guitar. This guitar is feather light because of the 95% mahogany, equipped with bone bridge and nut (2 enthusiast upgrades), ebony wood bridge-pins, vintage tuners, and no lacquer to alter true natural acoustic sound. I use Martin 92/8 phosphor bronze mediums and switched pins to boxwood just for the lighter wood look which is awesome. The voice of this guitar is superior to any acoustic guitar sound you will find. It is equipped with the perfect ingredient and design I kid you not, it demands respect. You can feel the roaring vibration playing. There's something about this guitar, the ease I feel improve my music quality, harmonics roll off and you find yourself doing things you never thought. The volume very strong, the aroma tells you this is a living thing. I cut a sponge to fit an empty shoe polish can, made 3 small holes and fill the sponge 14days. Mine exceeds the d1 the sepele and a war era J50 I just purchased. Hope this helps! As Mr Martin said "if I were a tree, what would I want to be?..... A Martin Guitar. By the way, back in the day Mr Martin left Germany because they fought him over his craft. They believed guitars were mere ornaments of furniture, anyway watch the Martin factory tour on Y tube. You won't find better than a D 15.

Comments about Martin 15 Series D15M Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

Music123.com's outstanding customer service and shockingly low prices made getting this guitar a breeze. This guitar changed the way I write music and gave a whole new depth of feel to my music and my playing. I have played far more expensive Rockbridge custom guitars that can't stand up to the Martin D15M. It is a true masterpiece of musical construction
