Amazing tone and playability

By Geo-zlKbt

from Crystal Lake, IL USA

Comments about Ibanez JS1000 Electric Guitar:

The first time I played this guitar I was like, "whoa...". The multi-radius neck is very easy to play and very comfortable, and the body is very smooth and just looks awesome. The DiMarzio pickups are great sounding, offering that tone. But what really amazed me was the bridge. Best tremolo bridge ever. No other tremolo compares to this. You can finally do those things that Satriani does in his songs. With the price that this guitar is at, there is no better guitar anywhere near this price.

GREAT TONE

By JOE-qFPW9

from DURSLEY , ENGLAND

Comments about Ibanez JS1000 Electric Guitar:

IF YOU LIKE BLUES AND YOU LIKE ROCK THEN YOU'LL LOVE THIS. IT HAS GREAT TONE, PERFECT FOR BLUES. BUT WHEN YOU WANT TO MAKE SOME NOISE,WELL I THINK YOU KNOW WHAT I'M GETTING AT... ITS A GREAT GUITAR. I KNOW SOME PEOPLE SAY THAT ITS FLAT OR THAT IT HAS NO EDGE TO IT, BUT THEY'RE WRONG. THEY JUST DON'T KNOW HOW TO USE IT PROPERLY. JOE SATRIANI SEEM'S TO LIKE IT AND IT SOUNDS GREAT WHEN HE PLAYS IT. THATS WHAT GOT ME TO BUY ONE AND I LOVE IT. and I think you will to

Comfortable and dead on sound

By wds21921

from Elkton, MD USA

Comments about Ibanez JS1000 Electric Guitar:

I have a JS1000BTB that is nothing short of incredible. The sharpness of the grind in these guitars is incredible. The factory set-up, as relayed by Ricsaw is pathetic at best. My set up was performed by Rich Harris who is world renowned for his work on the eclectic model Ibanez guitars. It's a smooth sound when you want it and has plenty of balls for that grinding "Joe" sound as well, with plenty of sound to spare. It's by far the most easy to play and comfortable guitars I've ever owned. I will be purchasing another one within the next year for sure. I can say without reserve it's the first guitar I've owned that is truly fun to play. The Fred pickups are as incredible as the design of this axe.

Great Guitar

By Rob-oUWCA

from Yakima, WA USA

Comments about Ibanez JS1000 Electric Guitar:

Not much more to say than what Rik "The Hacksaw" wrote. I did the set up on the guitar myself also, the factory does not do a very good job. Nothing a luthier or guitar guru can't handle, it is a great piece of equipment. My bandmates notice the difference the JS makes. It has great sound and tone and is very fun to play. My only gripe is I break strings often. I will admit the guitar is probably not to blame, I play very aggressively and tend to thrash the whammy bar often. All in all though I have been playing this guitar for over a year now and I have tried to replace it but cannot find a guitar as versatile as this one.

Well balanced, very fun to play

By Rik "The Hacksaw"

Comments about Ibanez JS1000 Electric Guitar:

Ibanez JS1000, Setup was preformed by myself. Factory set-up was not close. Removed relief in neck, adjusted spring tension on tremolo for propper tremolo posistion. Using D'Addario XL-942 strings ( factory delivered with these) String height 5/64th, I reset to 1/32nd. Getting used to the neck took a little bit of time. I have played the S540LTD series for over 7 years (very flat neck)! After getting the JS1000, and hearing the balance of tones, I sold all of my EX and RG and S Series Ibanezes and bought another JS1000. Since the fret board is rounded ( multi radius! ) it took a little bit of time to become fluent with it. After 2 months I was fluent and exploring the awesome sounds that the JS1000 is known for. I am consistanly running the back pickup with the tone at just under half for a compressed smooth snarly sound with a touch of brightness. Crank up the tone for hard attacked sounds and other off harmonics. This guitar has helped me become a much sharper and more accurate player. It demands you to be accurate! With these frets it actually has more room for fingering in the upper neck, so accuracy is defined instead of being between 2 larger forgiving frets. It's a great feeling to me. Compared to the S, EX and RG series guitars, the chromatic scale of the neck going into the upper world of lead, I found to be very accurate as well. Some guitars get sharp/flat. This guitar stays right on it, thanks to the medium Warmouth frets and the precision of the fret placement. After Receiving my 2nd JS1000, setup was closer, after performing the same setup procedures I have 2 guitars that are "ALMOST" 100% indentical (neck relief is the factor here - normal). The only flaw I have found is the volume control. Both guitars exhibit scratchy controls. This is due to small potentiometers. A little bigger, sturdier pots would have lasted a little longer. With maintinance this is alleviated. What do I like the most? It's a tie between the sound of the guitar and the neck. I rate it a 9 out of 10.
