Stunningly beautiful late '40s round-shoulder Gibson jumbo guitar.

The vintage appeal of this Gibson Southern Jumbo acoustic-electric guitar is right out front with a brilliantly executed sunburst finish and split parallelogram inlays on the bound rosewood fretboard. The Gibson Southern Jumbo's black pickguard complements the black headstock veneer with pearl logo and crown inlay. And it sounds as sweet as it looks with a premium solid Sitka spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a piezo pickup with active preamp. Lower string tension from the 24-3/4" scale makes this Gibson guitar play like a dream.

Followup Review - 3 Years Later!

By

from Noblesville, IN

Comments about Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is a followup to my review dated 8/17/2004. Now that the guitar is 3 1/2 years old, it is better then ever! The guitars finish looks like new (I polish no more then once a year). The action is the same as when I received this, there has been no need to have the neck adjusted. This truely speaks volumes about Gibson's quality. The tone of the instrument is actually better probably because the more you play the instrument, the more you realize how to play it expressively. This is one of Gibson's finest guitars and I recommend it without one reservation!

I love this guitar!

Comments about Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I purchased this guitar a few weeks ago and I am absolutely in love with it!It is my third Gibson acoustic - I have an old J-45 and an L-00 from the '90s - I wouldn't own another brand of acoustic guitar. While other guitar makers make fine guitars, they all seem to lack the warmth and personality that Gibsons have - I highly recommend them to anyone interested owning a guitar with a natural tone and feel........

It's a Gibson! Tone!

Comments about Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I have owned Martins and I have owned Gibsons and for the money this Guitar has no peer with Martin. The Southerner has a sweet but powerful voice with each string blending perfectly with its neighbor. Lots of tone and if you can play, it will express your ideas perfectly. If you buy this instrument, you will not be sorry!

If you're looking at it, buy it.

Comments about Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This is your guitar, buy it. I belive it is better than the originals from the "golden era". Montana Gibson is building the best guitars on the market. Mine is absolutely perfect -- sound, construction, and finish. It has the deep, rich sound Gibson is known for, and it is a wonderful guitar. You want a Gibson? Don't bother hunting a vintage and putting up with finish checking and big prices. This is your guitar. You won't be unhappy. Music123 delivered as promised; good seller.

Best sound. Easy to play.

Comments about Gibson Southern Jumbo Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I own an original bought in the early 70s. Other guitars can't match the sound and ease of play. I always go back to it after playing others.
